Banana splits reminded me of The Monkees, who reminded me of the Beatles. :)

I remember them well! I loved their bubblegum music, corny jokes, and the Danger Island and Arabian Knights shorts. When I was little, I LIVED for Saturday mornings!

    "uh oh, Chongo!"

Flo and Eddie of Frank Zappa (and the Turtles) fame had a hand in the Banana Splits - that's about as psychedelic as you can get, lol! :D

Oh man, i've been passing by this thread by for days.

Every time i see the words "Banana Splits", that song starts up in my head!

Tra la la, tra la la la..

I used to run to the tv to watch it! It was like an addiction, or some kind of mind control (you must watch this subliminal stimuli) lol!!

What a trip that show was. :D

I remember it well. I had a poster of Fleegle on my wall. I haven't thought of it in years. Thanks for posting! Great memories.

I dug Shazam - it and Isis ran back to back on saturdays :)

.......it also starred the great Les Tremayne as Shazam's earthly mentor

Wasn't Les Tremayne also the Lipton Ice Tea dude? Or, maybe the two just looked the same. :)
