so this week is craft beer week. i celebrated it by checking out my local brewpub and trying the century stout (a russian imperial stout) that had been aged in whiskey barrels. pretty cool stuff.

(not the actual stuff, but similar)

after that, we got some Ephemere (Belgian style beer from Canada)

and now im finishing the night off with a Double India Pale Ale called 'GUBNA' from Colorado.

    Double ipa!?? What?

I tried this ipa called f5 last night. It's brewed here. I kept my expectations low and was actually pleasantly suprised. Somethin about it though just seemed a lil off.

I had no idea there was even an American craft beer week. Il start my celebration now.

yea Oskar Blues calls it an 'Imperial India Pale Ale' but i think thats dumb.

    who brews f5?

    :xmastree:

im about to celebrate again tonight with some Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA, then a 90 minute IPA, then probably something from Lagunitas.

    yep yep

My alcoholic roommate and his alcoholic friends have forever, in my mind, associated the word "brewski" with budweiser/old english 800/mickeys..... ughh.

I mean, there's no beer like free beer, but.... ugh.

Being 19 and home from college, I have no way to really enjoy quality beer... so... have fun with your beer snob week :p

Beer ties my tummy all up in knots. However regardless of that fact occasionally I enjoy a good kilt lifter, Rasputin, or peach ale.

yep. I like dark stuff. If I can see through the beer I usually will not partake...unless it's peach ale. yum.
