can this be psilocybe semilanceata? I live in NJ and according to shroomery.org, they grow in NJ, however they claim they grow in the fall... the shrooms have a slightly conical, more umbrella shaped cap with a darker outer ring and a lighter inside. when they dry they dry to almost completely tan though with a slightly different outter ring (darker) spore prints are in the making now, but tell me what you think! ive never picked and ate my own shrooms since i live in NJ, but it'd sure be nice to not spend 45$ on an eighth! my concern is that they do not look conical enough, they are more of an umbrella shape which doesnt really match the pics i see online...
Pan foes.. If you eat it, it will not hurt you. Those may be actives to certain people. serotonin, 5htp ..but its dont contain psilocibin, you will have to eat many and probable only get headache and poops. this print should be very dark black for it to be the psilocybe semilanceata, but im about certain thats its not.. you should go to wooded areas that are damp, there you will find blue foots now in your location.
You are correct that the cap is atypical of semilaceata in shape and in hygrophanous character. As orison says looks more like paneolous sp.. Timing of fruiting is consistent with paneolous, although semilanceata can be found from June into fall depending on local conditions.
Nope definitely not smilanceata, they grow in the same type of land though. Good few pictures in my gallery if you want to have a look, pick thousands of them each year.
