I'm an 18 yr ol' hs dropout an' I can't stand livin' by societal norms. My parents think I'm weird an' my entire family finds me abnormal lol. Recently I've been lookin' into communes near where I live to see about joining one. I've been readin' up on the Farm, a commune just outside Summertown TN. An I was wondering if anybody had either lived there or visted it. I'd like to know what it's like if anyone knows. Help a fellow hippy out please an' find the time to post your knowledge here. Thanks.

i know other people have posted such literature here in the forums. you may wish to LOOK FOR THEM instead of being lazy and hoping the information will come to you. most communes do not like lazy people, in fact their communities would not survive if they had a bunch of lazy people just lying around and not putting in any work. think about this before you go visit one.

That's quite an unnecessary insult. Just because someone asks doesn't mean they're not looking and lazy. I mean seriously, it's an internet post. Lighten up dude.

There's a couple places you could visit. But you definately should visit a place first before you decided to go. Dancing rabbit is a good one, and there is a whole list of places you can go. Check out ic.org

I'm so with you Jeri. I have seen this several times when someone has asked for information. I thought this was a place to come together and share our knowledge, not bash someone for asking a question. If you don't want to help with the quest for the knowledge someone is asking for, move on, don't reply. I'm telling ya, some of you on here are becoming plum rude.
Blessings and peace be with you all.

I don't know much about the Farm. Haven't heard anything bad. Hard work. They used to manufacture hammocks for Pier One.
