Is it possible to grow mushrooms at home by finding directions online and buying spores online? The method I found taught online is the pressure cooker method and home incubation, seems kind of hard to believe its easy to grow them at home.. Are spores legal in the United States? Does anyone know any reliable websites? Also, I would like to get some tips and hear some success stories if there are any Thanks P.S I want to eat some and watch Alice In Wonderland, lemme rephrase that, I want to eat some and wonderland come to me.
Yes, it's possible. Spores are not illegal in most states, but you should check you're local laws. I got mine from thehawkseye.com. I would suggest you also check out shroomery.org for more info. Basically that site has everything anyone would ever care to know about shrooms. I'm still working on my first crop, but I've researched the shit out of this topic.
I tried pressure cooking tek and got moldy rice with my sporeprint... Once I bought pre-cooked sterilized media bags, and spore syringes, followed directions ... Within a couple months I was making more than I could eat, for the cost in consumable parts (terrarium or cooler cheap/free) which would equal a bag smaller than an oz in most parts I bet. I second the shroomery study, I won't wanna shill TMS but their media bags always paid for themselves if you can't make a sterile media/habitat. That's what I've been TRYING to SAY!
Aww, don't fool yourself. I'd joke about it being a WEED, but really the TLC/BS&T added make it an experience. Monkey see, monkey do goes far. Theoretical book learning might've helped me some as well as misdirected me once tested in the field. "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap." Galatians 6:7 (and some folks think G_D doesn't use the karmic system?) Nothing good in life is 'easy' we might joke, and perfection is lifetimes of practice. In the dichromatic ways of 'us vs them' and 'good and bad' cliches... I'll say there are growers, and people who want to be growers... or 'and people who quit'. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow. Or maybe, don't worry if your job is small and your rewards few, for the mighty oak was once a nut just like you. :watchplant: Don't expect to retire off your rookie crop. For some people it is a lifestyle.
What if somehow everything was done correctly and the mushrooms began to fruit and one had to go out of town for a week, will it survive? How much attention does it need in order to keep it from dying?
keep it about 80 and humid as a bitch, depends when u go n come back n if ur shit craps out wile ur gone but its more or less a leave alone type thing
