Ok so I smoke weed almost daily, but i've had little experience with harder drugs. I have done DXM once and I just did 2-ci. My friend says you have to wait a month between drugs like MDMA,LSD, Shrooms, 2-c*, mescaline, ketamine, etc, or you will have permanent brain damage. I have searched the web and cannot really find anything confirming or denying that. Are there any credible sources of information on this?

SOunds like you need to read more for yourself. Your clumping drugs into random categories here. There is no black and white time span. Each drug should be used differently. for example...LSD once every few months. Ketamine? (never) mdma SPECIAL OCCASION, more seldom the better.

    2c's vary but again..use responsibly.

don't try to generalize, be specific about what your talking about and KNOW THE FACTS. Some drugs are dangerous in ANY dose, but if you find yourself unable to avoid them, use extreme moderation.

none of the drugs you listed cause brain damage even with weekly dosings

I'd like for that to be true, but do you have an reliable article or source I might look at to substantiate this?

Think your friends just looking out for you. I mean, I've definitely tripped like 5 times in a month. Depending on what kind of person you are it can either catch up to you or you'll just be completely fine. But 30 days in between trips is a good standard to stick by. Especially if you're doing 2c drugs, those are a little bit more harsh on the body than drugs like acid and mushrooms, as they are experimental chemicals and not so extensively researched. You could probably get away with doing LSD on a weekly basis, but relax with the 2c's. Or do whatever you want and see how you end up in 6 months. Lol whatever floats your boat.

i think taking at least one month between psychedelics is a great idea. you will have more intense trips i think, and it's more healthy. although i have tripped from LSD/2ce more than once a month with no sign of brain damage.

No long term brain damage, but brain alterations. "For now, it seems reasonable to consider long-term serotonergic alterations after MDMA exposure as indicating that some degree of damage has occurred, while remembering that one is also measuring the response of the serotonergic system to acute drug effects and loss of axons. " (Reference)

I also have some severe HPPD. They say its from PTSD but I think its from 2c-e as well. I used that about 3 times in a week and it caused that, possibly.

I would trip MAX 1 time a week if you are sure to take the precautions. i.e. Adequate sleep before and after, proper hydration, use of anti-oxidants, vitamins, safety protocols, etc.. If not, once a month is good, obviously. But once every 3 weeks is def not going to hurt you. (no heroic doses either)

But we don't follow these stupid rules! I'm iron man...

Lol... as far as 2C-E goes let it stand I consumed approximately 250mg in the timespan of a month in a variety of doses, mostly insufflated... and 9 months later I'm happy and healthy... and better off than before ;)

I wouldn't do it again but I think it's good to know that some kid was crazy and turned out okay. Once a month is good. Two weeks okay. Depends on the substance. I feel like mushrooms lend themselves to more frequent dosing than does LSD or especially 2Cs. 2Cs I'd definitely recommend a month or so between doses, if not for your health than for the tolerance...

Whether it actually does damage or not I am unsure, but I definitely think it is a good idea to take breaks from things. Just let yourself reflect and regroup and stuff.

Yeah I agree with 2c increasing HPPD-like side effects (with consistent/daily repeat use). After doing 2C-E weekly a few years ago, my vision is still fried. I haven't touched any drugs in a while as well and it's still just as bad. Things are always... swaying... lol. Nothing I can recall before getting into these drugs.

Do you have a reliable article or source that suggests they do cause brain damage? They don't.

MDMA is neurotoxic, as are almost all dissociatives. With MDMA this happens when taking large doses, often, over a short period of time (e.g. several large doses in a week), however the damage it does is very minor, but you will lose the magic so there is no sense doing it more than once a month really. (However if you buy a gram it's fine to roll a couple of days in a row once every now and then)

Dissociatives on the other hand don't start showing any neurotoxic effects until you start doing them very regularly, daily, in large amounts, for several months. Just don't make it a daily thing and there's nothing to worry about.

As for (most, but not all, since MDMA is technically a psychedelic) psychedelics, there is absolutely no risk, you might feel a little "different" after, but there is no brain damage, so chill.

Deliriants may or may not cause brain damage, it is unlikely, but on the other hand I have had some lasting negative effects from their use. (Thankfully all gone now, but they persisted for several weeks after dosing)

(PS: Psychedelics include: LSD, Mushrooms, 2C-I, 2C-E, DMT, DPT, aMT, etc. Dissociatives include: Ketamine, PCP, DXM, Salvia. Deliriants include: Datura, Diphenhydramine)

As for how often you should take hallucinogens:

Deliriants - Why would you take them in the first place? If you must, do them rarely.
Psychedelics - Once a week at most really (I admit I've tripped 3 times in the past 10 days, but shh), ideally once every two weeks, simply due to tolerance and not any negative side effects really.
Dissociatives - You can do them every day for a week without a very noticeable tolerance, but don't make them a regular habit because of the neurotoxicity.

everyone's different... I had a friend who rolled 4 times in a month and claimed he had severe depression after, yet I've rolled twice in a week and been fine.

on the topic of DXM: its better to keep it to once a week since its habit forming, but doing it 3x a week for a bit didn't bring any negative effects for me(besides a bit of urinary retention possibly)

Your friend is an idiot, basically.

I've tripped on 2ce 2-3 times per week, for a while, with no negative side-effects. Of course, everyone is different, but your friend is still an idiot.

the chemicals you mentioned have never been proven to cause brain damage in any way; unlike binge drinking alcohol which has been proven to physically damage the brain over time

There is damage done. Whether it is permanent damage or not is the question. If I burn your skin is there permanent damage? Depends on how you look at it. You will grow skin back, the same color too. To the eye there doesn't have to be visible damage. But does it feel the same? Grow hair still? Same thing applies to these drugs, especially since we can't watch the brain as this stuff happens.

I know I don't feel the same. I actually think I am slower at learning and have slight memory problems. But I also know its changed me for the good in almost every other way then that.

Indeed. There are definite changes, but that doesn't necessarily mean brain "damage", thought medical professionals may disagree. lol

i see a lot of movement from the periphery of my vision these days. and i am pretty conservative when it comes to how often i trip. i last took acid two weekends ago, and 2ce like two months ago. i have dosed 2ce twice in a week, or maybe 5 times per month in the past though.

you ideally want to wait for longer period between your trips. because it will produce fuller trips as well as be slightly healthier anyway. personally i stay away from RCs (2c-, DOx). these are still relatively new drugs. but your going to want to look at lsd starting as a once monthly thing, and eventually chilling out to less often. mushrooms i have always felt are connected with nature and are pretty seasonal to when the type of mushroom you are eating is actually growing in nature. but still, not too much. you want to use discretion with these drugs.
