Cheers As an aside, I visited the site your sig pic comes from and read a lot of it - up to the kid who had his sister stand right where a shadow-being was. I think I slept for about two hours that night.
Haha, it's creepy but definitely a cool site. To be honest I have little knowledge of the guy who does the stuff, just found the picture randomly and thought it was great. Nothing wrong with a little free advertisement though is there?
well, did a search for some films and this came up, had a look at what people were talking about and wanted to throw my 20pence in....and everybody is really pleasant and all arguments are constructive which is really awsome to see
i found this place, because i was looking for a hippy/alternative forum....... and i post here, to learn/better myself, and help others.
I was looking for a bar in a joni mitchell song found the site from that, don't post as much I used too but met lots of nice people from the site
I spose to answer the question properly, I was going through my hippy stage and stumbled across hippy.com, and the rest is herstory really.
I came here seven years ago after going to a protest against George Bush. I googled for pictures and information about the march and came across threads talking about the protest in the uk forum. I liked the friendly community I saw and decided to stick around... It took me a while to work out it was a hippy forum:leaving: I've met loads of wonderful people from this forum and many have become real life friends. I've been very lucky to meet and shack up with Fingermouse, who is alright and is poking me. I've been moderating the uk forum for a couple of years since Peace_Phoenix became too busy to give it his full attention. I think this corner of the internet is unique and special uke:
I was just 15 when I found the forum by googling "hippy forum", so that was seven years ago too. I realised I was interested in environmental issues and was developing views which would have a good chance of being met with positivity here. It took another few years until I began posting regularly in the UK section, but I posted more and more once I settled and I'm so glad I did. The UK forum helped me greatly through a very rough patch in my life. It was a lonely time, and in total honesty the spirit of the people here helped keep me sane. I kept coming back for the humour, the interesting discussion and because I had made real friends. 6 months ago me and lithium finally got together, which is kind of great. The nice thing is we'd been talking online for years and got to know eachothers minds very well before meeting up. The threads here were letting us get to know eachother gradually, which is spiffing. It's nice to see a few of the old posters remaining or popping in very now and then, and some lovely new members too. I don't post here as often these days as I'm busy poking lithium and making him cups of tea on demand, but I'm hoping to stick around for a while yet. Ah twas a heartwarming tale :coffee: uke:
Typing "Hippy" into Google. Looked for a place that was UK based to hopefully meet some people on this fair island. Some years later, I still like this place. The people are lovely, and though the faces seem to change and fade from time to time, those that are consistently here have always seemed to be good people with good hearts. Though it does go quiet at times, there seems to always be some sort of silliness going on, which makes it worthwhile.
I thought the question just meant this section..so I'll modify my answer to include the whole site. I found HipForums while using google to check out a username from another forum I frequented I stayed when I found the forum games sections because it helped me forget about things in real life and CrummyRummy would make me laugh hard....and laughing feels good even if it's just done alone and on the inside.
If I could hug this part of the site, I would and I would hug it ever so tight, and try not to ever let go. I'm proud of being British
