Has anyone ever tried to go on a fast? Out of my own curiosity after reading about the benefits I'm 25 hours through a food fast. I'll be doing a total of 36 hours finishing at 11am tomorrow morning.

I'm not doing this for religious or weight reasons. It's interesting to see how adaptable the human body is. I'm totally fine going on 25 hours now with only some water.

I'll give an update tomorrow after I finish with observations during and after if i survive hah.

i like fasts. shows discipline, the extent of the body, eccentricity. i hear its good for your body when on a cycle/schedule, like once a week or so.

juice fasts are awesome too. makes you lose so much weight. my friend lost like 13 pounds in 6 days.

I want to try this too actually ... on of my friends is currectly on a four day fast to prepare for a ceremony..

I dont think I could ever take part because i would be sick... headachy ...and whining.
    Not spiritual.

I'm interested to see the responses.

I don't fast per say, but I have gone days with eating only a small amount of fruit, and drank some water. It's usually just to detox myself after a heavy stint of pub idiocy :D

As long as you never go overboard, it is fine. Makes you feel quite good in the long run.

I do Ramadan sometimes because my dad is a muslim. It's sunrise to sunset and in some places I've done it the sun didn't go down :(

I've fasted a few times before, usually twice a year I go on a 4-7 day fast. I like how clear my head is on day 4 and after that. I fast to "reboot" the system I guess. Spring cleaning! Get everything out!

After day 3 it is easy. The first three days are the WORST, for me atleast.
You're already skinny though haha, I definitely have some meat on my bones to sustain me :)

After a few days it does get easy. The hunger stops. You can go for a month on only water. You would have to rest a whole bunch though. You can't be on your feet. You get dizzy a lot too.

I think a week is a good time. When you haven't fasted before you should just start with a day.. then do a couple of days a week later and work yourself up.

I went nearly 2weeks with just an apple a day. I was meditating too. I felt so relaxed and concentrated. My mind was clear and I felt really happy.

If you do your fast for longer than a week you will notice a coating on your tongue. This is all the toxins coming out fo you. So 'they' say. You should stop when the coating goes and you start to get hunger pains.

What ever you do.. don't fast and just consume protein shakes. Your body gets overloaded with urea and you will die.

Also, eating again after a fast should be done carefully.
Don't gorge yourself on a huge meal.
Start with a little juice, some v8. Then try some raw fruits and veggies, soups are great, smoothies too. Then introduce breads and grains slloowwwwwwllly

I have never fasted and I am currently interested in fasting before tripping. I will be doing this soon actually, and I'll post about it once it's done. I don't think I could handle a water only fast, I will have to do a juice fast first.

you should really research fasts to know what you're doing while on one. The are good, but like 'good' drugs, they can also hurt you.
