So my friends, everyone wants to be healthier but even more importantly "back-to-nature".
Did i mention free also? (and not too painful, quick recovery.)

When you get up in the morning, take a cold shower!
    Benefits?
    you wont feel groggy
you skin will improve over time
hair becomes silky (of course the long-haired ones already know this!)
and it even saves money on the water and electricity bills.

If you arent ready for a full-on shower, try alternating between warm and cool. It is a little easier for some. (me included)

Good advice. I try and use coldish water whenever I can in the shower. Although, I fucking love the feeling of hot water in the shower. So relaxing. Not to mention it's awesome in the winter.

Well it is indeed better for the skin to stop burning the hell out of it with hot water. And if it improves your mood then it has a benefit to it. If there isn't any actual evidence for other benefits I think I'll stick to tepid water. After my morning workout I don't really need any further mood enhancement and the cold water would make me more cranky than anything :p

I started cold showering to test it on myself before i recomended it to my wife.
I found that I began to prefer a water temp on the luke-warm -> cool side of things and that hot water was uncomfortable. (coming from having my showers at the hottest i could handle and then a little warmer)

But then again i only bathe every 2-3 weeks (although during warmer months im usually in the water every day swimming). We dont use soap, indoors i just rub a cloth on me kinda but I really do not like removing my natural skin oils(which might be why i dont like hot hot water anymore, cuts the oil more). While outdoors we would just scoop dirt up and scour ourselves in it. Worked great.

I try to have a cold shower most days; I have never liked hot water. They really do make you feel much better afterwards :)

Yeah I haven't done it in a long time because tbh i do hate it. I do like the way you feel afterwards but only in a warmer climate than say 60 degrees at least. When I take warm showers I find it so much harder to get out, i just get lost in the blissful warmth, I try to avoid doing them for very long but it is great for stress and cold showers can be stressful.

I also took insanely hot morning showers and would end up being in there for like 25 to 40 minuets, got out and felt hella relaxed to the point i could easily go crawl back in bed, they also caused me to have dry skin and be uncomfortably hot for most of the day, then abnormaly cold the rest of the day. so i gradually started reducing the temp to the point that i now get goosebumps. This took away all the negative affects of the hot showers, and best of all it now helps we get fully awake, energetic, and clears my head. I feel emotionally better, and i now take quick 10 minuet showers. Yeah i do think its also helped my skin retain moisture and look better. Needles to say I'm a big fan (adviser) of cold showers.

Hot showers tend to make me sleepy and groggy- great before bed, not so nice in the morning.

Cold showers get me invigerated and pumped up for the day, not to mention making my hair pretty and shiny.

I usually take cooler showers, especially in the summer. When I take hot showers, with the heat from the water and the steam and no fresh air, I start getting light headed and need to get out anyways... <3

Nobody can deny that a cold shower is stimulating. It may be shocking, and at times uncomfortable, but a good cold shower may have more to offer you than a swift wake-up call. Cold showers stimulate the circulation, help the body rid itself of toxins, and can even promote energy and a sense of well-being.

Cold showers speed up your metabolism, too =) I have three a day.

  14. I wish I could take a cold shower! It's impossible here in summer. It's so hot outside that the cold tap is running luke warm at best.
