After one month of being barefoot 24/7, I now have what they call in New Zealand "kiwi feet". It is so amazing how feet can toughen up to the point that I can walk across the rough street, over the gravel road shoulder to the store without any discomfort at all! I'm really going to hate when winter comes around again!
that's awesome ! btw a friend of mine looking for a job (any kind of) emigrated to London where he found the second dude in his life who was barefoot on a steady basis beside me, and he was a Kiwi guy . New Zealand people appear to be one of the most barefoot accepting communities ever, which probably also entitles them for the crown of most tolerant people in the world... this friend of mine used to make fun of me all the time because of my compulsory lack of shoes . the persecution met its abrupt end one day when he surprised me showing his brand new tongue piercing and I asked him if it was intended to improve fellatio . since then he left me alone with my 'oddities'. p.s. winter has its delights too, like snow and frozen grass. we started calling that coldfooting .
