Ive done it a few times just getting wasted off the stuff and it just gave me a really clear headed drunk which prolly doesnt make sense since its really an oxy moron but i was feeling real focused and good and having fun. Didnt make me trip at all thoe.
ive had the kind you can buy in the ABC, but ive never had the legit absenthe. it comes with the spoon thing and whatever but i dont think it has woodworm in it. the drunk was a bit odd tho
I had absinthe last week, it is like an really strong alcohol. If you look hard enough there is an legit supplier of it. and even kits if you dont know how to make your own. OR if they are not in your country. Google is your best friend.
the real stuff is kinda trippy in a giggley way (i had about 3 egg-cups full and was rolling around on the floor - but then, i am a light-weight)... had some from Sainsburys last year and it was nowhere near the same trip, even after having drunk way more than 3 egg-cups full... the real one was green and made my lips all tingley.... if you gonna do it, get the real stuff and be careful with it... it can be lethal in large doses... well, all alcohol can ofcourse, but with real absinthe, it would take much less for you to be really quite fucked...
If you have had a good scotch it is about on par. Too much and you are going to have a banger of a headache. Sometimes though that is from kelling over and hitting your noggin. It is not as smooth as a single malt would be, it is a little harsher. It will hit the middle of the tongue and then the back of the throat, it is a two tone. If you have it, drink water. That will really help.
Do not put water or ice in it, it is really best if it is straight. Some people do and they should be shot. Drink water before or after.
I tried this stuff once. I had a hangover within 45 minutes of finishing my glass - long before the drunk feeling wore off. Its not something I've wanted to do again.
