There are some wonderful creations in there though to wear in places that have banned bare feet. Make a point that it doesn't make sense to single out bare feet but allow any 'footwear' with those gold heels (which lack the front part of the shoe) or the 'heels' made of wire!

Let's not forget Steve Martin, Cruel SHoes:

But this was not an ordinary pair of black and white pumps; both were left feet, one had a right angle turn with sepa*rate compartments that pointed the toes in impossible directions. The other shoe was six inches long and was curved inward like a rocking chair with a vise and razor blades to hold the foot in place.
Carlo spoke hesitantly, ". . . Now you see . . . they' re not fit for humans . . ." "Put them on me."
    "But... "Put them on me!"
Carlo knew all arguments were useless. He knelt down before her and forced the feet into the shoes.
    The screams were incredible.

Every time I put on a pair of "effin" shoes I regret it.

there was just one thing that caught my attention, it was the following statement:
There have been a lot of reports recently saying we should all abandon shoes and just start running around barefoot. Apparently shoes are “inefficient” and cause “damaging impacts.” Which is interesting because I always thought of shoes as “cute” and “protecting [me] from all the used needles strewn across Crosby St.” the dude cannot grasp that both points of view can be true at one time, not just his own. one may prefer to face the urban hazards and stay bf ,another guy instead enjoys the protection of shoes accepting the relative woes. this choice involves one's personality and no one is entitled to teach others what is good for them. quite sadly, we are often showing intolerance. I don't wish one day to see everybody barefooted nor force people into thinking that shoes are evil and wrong, no matter the context. I want tolerance for my barefooting without having to explicitly asking for it or believing that everyone else is wrong going around in shoes. nothing more than this. i just abandoned a barefooting group because i was fed up with fanatics believing to have absolute truth in their pockets, feeling entitled to carry on religious wars against shoes.

I damn near died when I saw this! Girlfriend, you would be in awe if you saw me in one of my hippie dresses and some of those shoes. Talk about a perfect match!;) Sometimes a guy has to get in touch with his feminine side and go out in style. I DO love going barefoot and have the callouses to prove it, however, there are those times when you wanna go classy:p

Oh Geez, I see they even have "Flower Power" heels. Why ever happened to hippies just going barefoot?

I wonder if something like the Vibram Five Fingers would have been on that site, had someone not invented them.
