Anyone know where to get shades in the style of Roger McGuinn circa probably '66 or so? I've been looking for years after my last pair broke.
The only places they seem available is costume shops, like here: http://www.dazzlelace.com/accessoriesandnovelties/costumes.htm http://www.acepartysupplies.com/Ben-Franklin-Sunglasses-p/c5557.htm
Ya, I've seen those. They're really cheap imitations. I appreciate your help, though. =) I'll keep looking.
Check out a local optician's, they might be able to order you some frames that suit your style. Also, where do you live?
Ya, I saw a pair of frames I liked, while looking for some reading glasses. Unfortunately, for them to make me shades from those frames, they wanted to charge me about $300. I'm much to hard on sunglasses to justify that cost. =) I'm kinda close to St Louis, Mo. =)
Yeah, prices in optician's these days are fucking ridiculous. Ah, I see. I don't suppose you have Blue Banana over there? I'm in the UK and they sometimes have glasses similar to the ones Roger McGuinn wore in stock there.
Nope. No Blue Banana. There's a store called Glad Rags, but they don't have them, either. Even their round, so-called, "granny" glasses are all really large. If I could find some quarter-sized (roughly 25mm) round lenses, I'd go with those. =)
Ah, now those I may be able to find for you...I have some round ones which I ordered online, just a sec.
http://www.hippieshop.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/8007 - What about those? There are round ones here too. http://www.hippieshop.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?category=8000 They're pretty good quality, at least the ones I have are.
Ain't I nice? And bored. Well they look pretty small to me, they're pretty close to the ones John Lennon wore in size I'd say, maybe a little bigger? But then again my face is smallish so I can't really comment. eace:
Not much for a fourteen-year-old to do at midnight in the middle of a huge town that doesn't involve getting arrested i'm afraid.
