Actually, the chances your kids can be seriously hurt at school are very large. The odds of it being on the news is much smaller.

Besides, I'd rather give my daughter complete one on one attenion rather than her learning in a classroom of 30 kids to 1 teacher. She is only 3 and is learning at the level of a kindergarten ae child. I am teaching her home-ec skills early, and public or private schools aren't really compatable with my moral, ethical, and spiritual belief systems. Besides, most of the schools around here are Christian based and we are not christians.

As far as a social life, hers is fine. She's around people of all ages and backgrounds and she will be taking ballet or gymnastics classes (she likes to dance) when she's old enough to enroll.

And anyway, I like being such a big part of her life. I am her mommy after all.

Nah.
My kid loves homeschooling..claims he doesn't want to go to any other kind of school until college. He gets a kick out of math and he's grade levels ahead in it. I love to see him get excited about it. I have a feeling if I put him into an average school I'll see that excitement die out. I'm still considering alternative schools though now that we're moving to an area that offers them.

Me on the other hand..... I wasn't homeschooled horribly well. My mum has emotional problems and if I didn't immediately understand anything without assistance she'd go off on a rampage so I didn't learn very much in those years. When I tested to go back into school I was testing at the grade level I was in when I left school, and it was years later.

The hanging out with hippies part was kind of cool though, lol.
