    Hi,

My dreads are 2 years old and I live in Hong Kong, very few dreadheads here!

I've been learning to surfing this year & not touching my dreads but with all the crazy wipeouts and stuff my roots are really out of control and I am coming to the USA for some special events & I want to tidy my roots as they are crazy messy & coming out everywhere.

Is there anyone out there who knows how to crochet in roots? I've had this done before, I wouldn't recommend it too often because it can weaken ur dreads, but I really need some maintenance as I'm also a teacher and the school is starting to look at me in a funny way, maybe I look like a hairy muppet or something! LOL!

    Please help

this is probably not the best forum to ask for a loctician recommendation. most of us go natural here. you could do them yourself, or leave them alone.

if ur so frizzy, use some aloe to calm it down. but the crazy hair goes with the territory of having dreads. let it alone, chill out

I believe Florida has traditionally been more of a republican state
I think Cali leans more toward loctitian

Aloe works good, helps the scalp out too... just too much for too long makes a nappy rotting smell. It's always good to wash it out after a day.

As for being a surfer.. and coming to Florida.... surf, everyday. The salt water here is amazing for taming dreads. Me and my ex-wife dreads were done solely on salt water. Gave us another reason to go to the beach too.

Please don't ever touch wax with them..

There's a few hair-stylists around that do dreads in my hometown, unfortunately.. all they know how to do is backcomb, wax, and don't wear em themselves.. misery and money.

You, are, you're own best hair-do'er-person.

I miss my dreads... even though they were a pain.

And this is why I stopped visiting this site. They are my dreads after all and I don't need a lecture. I am a professional in a country that unfortunately evaluates people pretty much by their looks only so I have to be somewhat presentable otherwise I'll be unemployed. I don't put shit in my dreads, they are clean I just want some extra growth tidied. I guess I'll have to look else where.
