if a black hole sucks in everything that comes near it, then our planet, our galaxy is in contact with something that has been sucked into a black hole.

what if we are constantly going back and forth through a universe-sized black hole? how would we know?

what you need to understand is that space is a vacuum. that means that there isnt anything between astrological bodies, other than distance. so, that means that a black hole has nothing to suck us in with other than gravity. If we are outside of, which we are at the moment, the gravity of a black hole we wont be sucked in. Bottom line astrophysics is fucking nuts

How do you know we weren't? Maybe what we're experiencing now is just a time-lag of something that has already happened an infinite amount of times in the past.

Anyway, it's all just energy-matter moving mechanically across the void.

A black hole doesn't "suck" anything in.

It does, however, pull matter into it because of it's massive gravity. However, after everything near it has been pulled into the black hole, it has no way to go into contact with more matter.

It's like if you had a sponge and a small puddle of water, after the sponge absorbed the puddle, it would have no other water in it's surrounding area to take in.
