I really don't think BP blew up a profitable oil rig and killed 11 people just to kill some fish and turtles for shits and giggles, not to mention the fact the rig wasn't even theirs, it was leased out to them for exploration. While this may wind up being worse then the Exxon Valdez, the Valdez was in fact just total human failure and a simple fuck up that could've easily been stopped, this was a total accident.

Besides, we're all guilty of living in the petroleum economy, I don't care what you do, even if you don't drive a car and get electricity from a windmill so many of the everyday products we use have petroleum in their production.

 

I wish there was a way I could go and volunteer to help clean the animals

Hmmmm... Off shore hemp farms. But, then they would have an explosion and the beaches would be covered with hemp, the birds would get stoned and fly north for the winter.

It wasn't an accident.It was lack of foresight,negligence ,coupled with incompetance and money saving. I hope someone sues the fuckers out of existance and put some asses in jail.

If that oil gets into the Gulf Stream, as they now expect, this may be remembered as the summer when nobody in the Southeast got to go to the beach. Everything south of Cape Hatteras, NC is going to be black.
