Depends on your type of IP Address, which in turn depends on who your ISP is. Some ISPs distribute IPs that have a pre-assigned lease time, which means even if you disconnect your cables for a while, it may still have the same IP address when you turn your internet back on. If this is not the case then yeah, disconnecting your internet/modem completely for about 10 seconds to a full night may work. Worst comes to worst you can always call your ISP and demand a new one. Open the command prompt (Start menu --> Run --> Type in cmd) Type ipconfig (Optional) Type ipconfig /release Type ipconfig /renew And you should be golden. I wouldn't do this unless you have another computer around though, just in case something doesn't go right and you need to look up help online...
