sourcing publicly

Listen guys, recently iv been seeing alot of regulars asking for sources very publicly (example: The 5-iai thread). And then when a new jack with less then 10 posts does it we all yell at him. How can we expect new members not to start threads about their impossible search for vendors and the puppy dog eyes that will acompany their inevitable plea for mercy in the form of a source when they see the regulars doing almost the same thing? I dont mean to sound like a dick or put anyone on blast but all the regs should know better. we need to keep that talk confined to PMs only or else we will start getting flooded with first post "plea for mercy" posts.

allright now that the sand is out of my vagina your regularly scheduled programming can resume and i can go back to making some guacamole. anyone have a favorite recipe?

I just agree not to source openly. I agree when a low post person does it we mash on em, and it slides with a regular. I'm not an ass hole by no means, you can ask anyone.

 

No one's being an asshole they are just pointing out what shouldn't be done on this forum. In reality, I can't help but feel that this entire section of the forums is a bad idea as it jeopardizes our individual safety as well as the entire community's safety, but I like talking to you guys about it too much to stop haha.

i have to agree with home grown on this one for 3 reasons.

1 is I hate noob bashing-- no offense crank


2 Almost everyone here was once been a "noob" to rc sourcing. In my quest i was that noob asking someone to pm me for sources. How about you?

What the "noobs" need to do is pm an established member about a specific vendor who has written a report about questioned compound to see if its vendor a match or maybe they could point you in The right direction.

Sourcing should not be done
Publicly though, that is for sure. Private message is another matter in my opinion. It is against site policy but its a PRIVATE message not everyone can see.
