I'm supposed to perform a song on guitar in front of the class tomorrow because my teacher. And I don't really have any songs that I know of that sound good performed solo on an acoustic guitar in front of the class. I have Stairway as my last resort but I don't want to be that guy... You guys can probably figure out what I'm getting at, soooooo haveanyIDEAS?
yo buy a capo and learn here comes the sun or just search for a bunch of easy things on youtube. Or go accopello? lol

Yeah, that'd be cool. As would Blackbird. Both would be suitable. Note the part where I say I have to play it tomorrow Yeah, that'd be cool. Again, don't think I could learn it and remember it very well in one evening though :/ I actually started learning this song a while back, just never really went very far with it. Yeah, I know a few JJ songs. Sadly, I can't sing to save my life, so that's all sorta useless knowledge. Most of his stuff gets sorta old quickly if you can't sing with it.
If you are good, you should learn to play Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. You could learn that in a day. Otherwise I seriously love these songs, and they are easy to play and wonderful by themselves 1. Eddie Vedder - Society (if you have a deep voice) 2. Radiohead - Fake Plastic Tree's 3. Ours - Bleed (it's only a G and a C Add, and the guy has an incredible voice) 4. HIM - Funeral Of Hearts (cheese yes, but it's great acoustically) 5. Brand New - The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot/Soco Amaretto Lime 6. The White Stripes - I Can Tell We Are Going To Be Friends All fun to play.
Sweet list I'll have to try and learn all/most of those at some point. Eddie Vedder is sweet. Is Society from the Into The Wild soundtrack? I'm considering playing/singing 'Helpless' by Neil Young, but I've never sung in front of anyone before, so that just screams bad idea
Hah, it's a good song. Give it a try I do recommend Eddie Vedder though, more than any other. It's easy and just sweet sounding. I only selected easy songs to play since you said it was tomorrow. Plus i don't know if you are any good on the guitar. Otherwise I would have probably suggested something really stupid. If I was doing it I would play either Benighted by Opeth or Big Love by Mick Fleetwood I love playing guitar man.
And it is off the Into the Wild soundtrack, love that film and all the music. Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam rock.
Yeah. One of the greatest movies out there. I'm decent at guitar. I'm far too self-critical to actually give you any indication of what my actual skill level is. Decent is the best description I can give you.
Well, kudos for playing guitar anyways. I do recommend benighted to any modest player though, pushes your abilities and sounds pretty lovely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjtZW_FCSTo"]YouTube- Opeth-Benighted(song only) I can go on for ages, I will shut up now
That's hardly necessary. I don't really get sick of talking about it ever (and by it, I mean guitar things)
You probably aren't into this type of music, but maybe you know of some songs/riffs I can learn that would be similar to the intro of 'Long Haired Country-Boy' by Charlie Daniels? It's sorta country-bluegrassy-ish. I was trying to find something like that (that's also kinda-sorta well-known so I can find tabs cause I can't play by ear ) but I haven't had much luck.
