Hey so i'm currently thinking about investing in a vaporizer. I am a regular toker (smoke every day) but recently my short term memory has gotten so bad i've been forced to quit. There will be times when my roommate asks me a question and i dont even remember what he asked, or i'll go get myself a cup of water, put it down, then forget i got it. Stuff like that. I've heard smoking out of a vape doesn't produce the same negative effects of burning weed. And word on this? Also, what are some other positives of vaporizers?

Negative effects of burning weed would be physically to the lungs since you're inhaling burning smoke into them. As for short term memory loss, that's a result of being high from the chemicals(i.e. mainly THC) in marijuana, which a vape still gives you plenty of.

    ^ditto. ^

try memory exercises. like when you do stuff, recall what you just did. then keep recalling things and lay them out in your mind in a timeline. it definitely helps. at least it does for me

My short term memory loss is like that when i'm sober though. Like theres literally a week where i dont remember anything i did. I stopped the week after that.

i don't think it solves short term memory issues - but i'd still recommend getting a vaporizer - an Arizer Extreme Q to be specific. look on ebay. if you really want one, i'll give you the dude's email. he is very professional and ultra-fast with shipping

    Sounds like it to me....

See, your short term memory is your ability to remember groups of numbers, such as telephone numbers, and how many numbers in a group or how long you can remember it. So... That's something totally different.

    i suggest a vaporizer.
i also don't think that its going to help your memory. i like to learn when im bored, or whenever i have a free moment. learning new things you are interested in, and rehashing things you already know in a new way, is a good way to reinforce memory. i like to watch documentaries ( topdocumentaryfilms.com) about all sorts of stuff. remember, most of your brainy connections form before you're 25.

if you think the memory loss is from smoking take a tolerance break. it will help you to identify if it is the weed, or something else, like distraction because the weather is warming up. plus, you can get uber baked when you do smoke again.

I'm only 18 so I highly doubt it's Alzheimer's setting in. Do any other daily smokers experience this kind of short term memory trouble when they aren't high? Any ways to control it or make it better? I was thinking of taking ginkgo biloba supplements but im not sure how much that would help

I was having bad problems with memory for a couple of days, like I couldn't remember what was on the test I had literally JUST taken, and it turned out I was just dehydrated.
Sipped on some of that H2O and no more memory problems...at least while I was sober:)

They've both been proven to improve short-term and long-term memory.

Yeah, but still, improve could mean a lot of different things. Having two dollars is an improvement over having a dollar, but so is having a billion dollars and there's a big difference there.

I'm just wondering if after consistently taking daily doses of those supplements, you begin to notice that your memory is functioning better?

Yeah I mean, it would probably take time, but it supposedly works, and any improvement is better than nothing. There's really only one way to find out.

Personally, I enjoy a little short-term memory loss. lol It makes for some entertaining situations. Especially when I'm getting stoned alone and I forget what I am thinking mid-thought. lol It's pretty trippy:sifone:
