Hey all! I have a question about a feeling I get sometimes. It's hard to tell you exactly what it feels like, because I don't know of any words that describe it exactly...but I'll try.

Sometimes I'll just be sitting at my desk and I get a feeling in my chest and throat. The only way I know how to describe this feeling is as a void...or an eptiness or something. It's rather unsetteling. Its not painful, but sometimes it gets to a point wehere I feel like crying.

I meditate, but I've just recently been working on my Chakras. I was wondering if the "empty" feeling that I experience, is my throat and heart chakras telling me that there is an imbalance???

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks.

Yep I know that one as well. There are some voids that are blissful, there are some that are not.

I had the same one you've got and it hung around about 3 feet behind my left shoulder always behaving as if it was coming closer but it wasn't, until I let my guard down and gave in to it and said, fine take me.

When I did this it came and tryed to close my heart, shut me off from the world. When this happened the only way to stop it is to find your feelings of wanting to be part of the universe and not shut off. Similar to how it would be if you were being buried alive and you are paralysed and you bring all your willpower to live together and you break open the coffin and live.

The way I exorcised this fucker is to give yourself up to the stream that life is always trying to run through you. Give in to your desires to live your dreams. The void will say to you "You can't do it, you will fail" but you've just got to do it and eventually the void will give up and leave.

    I hope this helps.

Yes, ignoring the feeling or hoping it will just go away on its own in my case made it much worse. The feeling you're describing was similar to a feeling I used to always expereince as a sort of knot that traveled up and down my core- or through the chakras-- By focusing on it and meditating with it specifically in mind I've been able to do some good "work" on myself... found I was having way too much attachment to controlling my environment, something I would have vehemently denied before I spent time meditating on it... One exercise that worked wonders for me:

Close your eyes, take yourself to a safe place and follow your breathing for a few minutes until you feel yourself starting to relax a bit. Then look at the feeling... what shape, color, size is it? How does it move, is there enough room for it? Then let your mind go where it will, sometimes coming back to following your breath, after a while, come back & examine the feeling... you'll often be suprised that the image you see will have changed in color, intensity, etc, and you'll often gain little flashes of insight as to what the "feeling" is all about... hope this helps, don't worry, this is exciting as it is great work... Your feeling may not be so great, but your meta-feeling can be one of great excitement that you get to do some good work!

Thanks all. I'll try working on it, and I'll let you know how it goes.

    Peace!
