I find that Kurt Cobain drew a lot of his inspiration from Andy Milonakis's folk songs such as "The Superbowl is Gay"

Well much like pink floyds "darkside" I think Radiohead was in the right place at the right time. "ok computer" pretty much single handedly destroyed britpop (oasis, blur, etc) and dealt with the reliance and relationship of man and technolgy which is still completely relevant 13 years later. Then just instead of just repeating themselves they opted for glitchy ambient music on kid a that was still accessible enough for a mainstream audience. I can see how its not for everyone but I consider "ok computer" the closing chapter in rock of what "sgt. Peppers started.
