well this just about ties up the loose ends on the GW growing controversity

 

I forget whether is was Susan B Anthony or Alice Paul but one of the two refused to pay her court fines. It might have been Alice Paul and the fine she had for "obstructing traffic" while protesting for Women's Suffrage. But I think it was when Susan B Anthony who got the fine for dressing as a man and trying to vote... I can't remember. But whichever it was, before she died, her lawyer offered to pay them for her and she told them no, she wanted it on the books because she had not done anything wrong, and paying it was admitting she had done wrong. It is still on the books today that she owes something like 100$.
