I'm the guy you heard on Anomolies Radio discussing the Zozo Ouija Phenomena. I also write the Zozo blog at zozotheouijaspirit.blogsopt.com

It's been quite an adventure the last couple of months, there is alot going on with this phenomena, I appreciate the interest, I'm new to this message board, I'd be happy to answer any questions relating to the phenomena.

I have once. It was during the summer when I was at a catholic college to learn Japanese. Now I'm not at all catholic or anything. Anyways so I was getting free college credit, but i had to stay in the dorms at the college. I had about three other friends who were there during the summer with me.

There were several dorms on campus, but everyone in the program just happened to be in a dorm with a view of the cemetery (by the way I wasn't very thrilled about it from the beginning it kind of freaked me out.)

So one night me, my three friends, and maybe two other girls decided to see what happened if we tired messing around with the Ouija board. So we start messing around with it and we start trying to contact my friend's father (he had died 6 months earlier at the age of 45).

We all decided it'd be a great idea to ask if we could get a sigh. Well we definitely got a sigh, about a minute after we ask. The doors to the closet started slamming and the there was pounding/scratching on the walls. Needless to say it scared the shit out of me. I got up and ran out the room and went to my dorm and didn't sleep for the rest of the night.

Moral to the story be careful what you ask for!

During my experiences with Zozo, rappings were a definite calling card of his, so to speak. Sometimes, a frenzied scratching followed by a deep "thud" against the inside of walls, or in attics that were most frightening to say the least. Zozo enjoyed making pictures of Jesus fall off their nailings, often swaying back and forth as if to mock Jesus. This happened recently. It indeed seems the more research I dwelve into in writing my book on The Zozo Phenomena, the more Pareidolia I associate with the phenomena.

I am taking a closer look into Page's symbol, as in history, and language phonetics, the S and the Z are often interchangeable. Call it a strange hunch, but I think there is more to Pagey's "Zoso" symbol than meets the eye. For instance, Zozo is defined as meaning "Blackbird, or Crow" in the ancient tongue of Basque. The only other project I have seen using the Zoso symbol other than Zeppelin 4, was Page's project with you guessed it, "The Black Crows!" On the live CD cover, two Crows point their feathers to the crescent moon. Page's symbol is thought to be related to his ruling planet as evidenced in his astrological birth chart.

Shakespeare was quoted as saying the letter Z was an eschalogical letter, the "whoreson Zed." It wasn't until the United States became separate from British rule that the letter Z was re-pronounced "Z." It is still referred to as "Zed" in many parts of England. It has been quoted as being the letter S as seen from the other side of the mirror, the letter of the zig zag, and was once considered to be banned from the English language! The letter Z was associated with hell in the afterlife in Egyption beliefs, the S as a coiled Rattlesnake.

It has been written that those who experience more Pareidolia than the typical average Joe, that these people show higher levels of dopamine in their brain chemistry. One might speculate that I am strapped to an IV of epic proportion! The hungry skeptics are eating me for lunch, but they might be careful and watch what they eat, for I feel the phenomena is real, and based on the cases I have been investigating, this whole thing is disturbing in the sense that "Mr. Z" although not classified in any known demonic pantheon or hierarchy, is indeed visiting people with a "Jungian Synchromystic" quality thru the use of Spirit Boards.

I used an Ouija board for a few months to have contact with the same spirits over that time period. There were a few very odd instances that happened.

The first sitting was done with three people, myself, my room mate and our friend that initiated the whole thing. We made our own ouija board out of cardboard, permanent marker, and tinfoil (this is what made our pointer thing).

In all cases before we touched the ouija board, all participants would go through a formal ritual with us that involved setting the intentions of the session and creating protection around us and in regards to the people that we would be talking with.

We contacted both passing spirits in the area, our friends dead grandmother, and spirits who actually lived in the apartment we were doing the readings in. There were 16 spirits living in the apartment, with only 3 or 4 in a given session having enough "energy" to communicate with us. One was a previous tenant of the apartment who had died, killed accidently by her son when he was just a little boy. One was her brother - he was a very angry spirit and tried to get us to do certain unnecessary things to help his sister cross over. Another was an author, I cannot recall who now.

The experiences were very strange. The third or fourth session in, I no longer needed the ouija board to communicate with the sister or the brother. I just had to go into a meditation in the room that they were in and I would automatically "know" or "feel" them and I was able to answer all questions. The answers would come out of my mouth before I knew them.

After a few months the spirits were getting out of control during the sessions. We effectively terminated the sessions.

The skeptics that did attend the sessions left usually extremely freaked out. One had a camera with him, and took pictures of 8 blue/white orbs - which accounted for the amount of spirits in that session - that he watched move around the room on his digital camera. He could not explain it.

In any case, from my experiences, I would warn anyone to be very careful when they are using the ouija board. You must use protection at all times, because you don't know what spirits you are going to contact, and what they are like. Once you start communicating and forming a relationship with them it isn't the easiest thing to get rid of them.

Darrenteed, I'm skeptical about this spirit, but I'm still interested in what you're saying.

Do I understand you correctly that people contact the spirit, using a Ouija board, and it spells out the letters "Z-O-Z-O", and from that point on, they're dealing with Zozo? Can this be similar to a "Folie à deux" where the users of the board are all convinced they're contacted a malevolent spirit instead of just regular spirits. Also, can the dopamine increases you mentioned explain people placing an increased significance on ordinary house noises such as rats scratching in the walls or doors slamming because of wind and air pressure changes?

I suppose it's in my nature to look for psychological and scientific explanations for phenomenon. I love the stories of H.P. Lovecraft.

    Darren,

I am very interested in this particular phenomena. I am more interested in the supposed connection between this "Zozo" and Pazuzu, an entity I have had...lots and lots of dreams about.

    Anyhow,
I really dont know what I think about this Zozo mess. I have found that most of the information regarding him/it comes from you. So, it is very hard to find anything that is not directly or indirectly related to you and your story. I have never heard of a demon named or called Zozo...but I could be wrong. I have read a few websites claiming that Zozo is either the name of a demon, ancient spirit, etc...but, I have found nothing that backs up that claim that is, like I said, independent of this "Zozo" phenomena.

p0ppy, here's my working theory on the ZOZO phenomenon:

Since the name doesn't seem to been in the ancient pantheon of demon names, it probably is a 19th or 20th century spirit. Even though many people independently, may have come in contact with the spirit, a lot of the stories have been compiled together, but that is the nature of Internet search engines. As for its name, I believe it comes from the very layout of the Ouija board itself - the "Z" is on one side of the row and the "O" is on the other. A wild swinging back and forth of the planchette might spell the the name.

I am a skeptic, but one who doesn't discount other people's ideas and experiences. I believe those who say they've had intense things happen to them that cannot be explained.

If you insist on useing a ouija board, i would recommend people that are serious and wont fuck around, this is no toy as you wont have a clue which spirit will come through. Be sensible dont go to a "haunted house", dont contact while any of you are under the influence of and drugs including alcohol... ermm i suggest 4 people as you will have a stronger connection. Good luck :)

I agree, many of the "zozo" stories found on some internet search engines may be "my own" experiences. I admit, I have compiled alot of zozo stories on the site, they date back to the late 90's. I must stress that I have had many years of conversing with what in my mind, I believe to be a very negative spirit entity.

The book project involves many authors, psychics, demonologists, and people who claim to have had "real" experiences with this zozo phenomena.

As far as the comment regarding the placement of the letters on "Ouija" boards, I agree that i have observed countless sessions to when contacting a spirit, it would sway back and forth. Almost always stopping, and hovering over the "Z" character. It does this is some sort of "preemptive' manner. It's when it continuously refers to it's name in a repetitive, profound manner where the participant "knows" it is present, is when things escalate to "happenings" outside the explainable realm.

I have refrained from contacting zozo for about 4 years. The zozo I mention has the ability to examine the future, to manifest it's power in many different forms, to render individuals powerless during sleep. Not only engaging in sleep paralysis, but causing incubus characteristics within the experience that leaves one gripping for answers afterward.

I fully expect the skeptics to literally come from within their carefully positioned caverns. I hope they are positioned in a way that 'they too" can be exposed. The zozo spirit phenomena is only in it's infancy, with my ramblings but a small contribution into the phenomena. The truth is ultimately held to those who experience zozo phenomena, and reveal it's profound influence upon circumstances in their lives. If any.

Ouija boards, and other "innocent" spirit boards may simply hold a common skeptic's point of view as a harmless "game." "The messages from beyond are but a figment of ones imagination, a toy, if you will!"

My direct experience, the experiences of other people, the believers, the skeptics, the unexpected outcome, will be examined.

Darren, Thanks for the post. As I mentioned before I'm a skeptic about most paranormal phenomena but I don't discount what you have to say. The ZOZO information may be small-scale and new at this point, but you should continue your research back into history and continue talking with others who believe they've made contact. There are a lot of paranormal topics on the web right now (Black-Eyed Kids, for instance) which have only come to light since the 1990's. The naysayers will claim they're fabrications because they're new to the scene, but we can only know for sure if someone independently collects the stories and methodically researches them.

love it or not the ouija has been with us in one form or another. the earliest evidence that has been found proves that ouija board or system has been around since the old line of the egyptians pharonic leader ship. back when my freinds and i were into ouija we would wait until dead time to try and make contact sometimes i honestly think we did make contact, but one of my aunts set me down and explained to me i was way out of my hood, when you open a door onto this plain of reality you never know what might jump back? but have fun with it helped to while away the hours before people had real tv

I was listening to my fav podcast (Mysterious Universe) last night and they talked a lot about the black eyed kids. Someone had a theory that they could be some type of Aliens who are using this method to try and contact us now. Someone else said they could be shadow people who inhabit or possess the body of these children.

I think the alien theory is pretty interesting.
