How could anyone possibility give credability to FOX NEWS?
A typified agenda media corporation. Of course Fox news will tell you sex makes you dumb, then in 6months it'll tell u it'll make a genius.

Sex has been controlled (thru religion, society), distorted and marketed into a mechanical or procreation activity.

Social norms, who sets them, or even a better question, where do the majority of ppl look for role models and reference, the mainstream media. The truth about sexuality has been locked away in these structures to once again remain forever elusive.

I think a big mistake we make is, label Love a commodity, and everytime we get hurt, we consider that a loss, rather than a gain, to further understanding yourself, others, and what love really is. Sex is a medium in which we able to connect with some1.

But in modern times, it has become so franchised, if i can use that word, that we find little niches of sexual behaviour to categorize our sexual interests in (fetishes).

We furthermore crucify our partners for sleeping with someone else, and then put material matters into play, for our own personal desires. "I want the house, the car, the 2 estates" What the fuck will all these material things do, fill what void? The sexual void that you may of have lost between your ex-partner? Im not saying that a compensation, for the time invested in the homes u lived, but that does not solve any issue to what caused the split.

A very distorted article from FOX, stating that the male barin is more sexual. Then tell about the nymphos in campus grounds, let alone the females out in the real world. Males have been programmed by institutions to be stuck in the 2nd chakra (the penis) and only associate females with sex, the majority of times.

I dont think that sex makes you dumb, I think its more that society still holds some antiquated confusion about our own sexuality. Sex is one of the areas that people dont seem to take very serioulsy in our society, I feel that most people may still be immature when it comes to sex and sexuality and because of this we have these tendencies to misinterpret our sexuality.

Where ever you look sex is a big part of our lives, its in our very nature to like sex and seek it out. However its become something very primal it seems. Aldous Huxley talks about human sexuality in his book Island, in the novel he compares two forms of human sexual behavior, on one hand he presents the primal sexual behavior that I see in our society today. We are embarrassed by our sexual desire yet we still indulge in that desire, which leads to a mixed feelings which may be largely negative.

Then he presents the sexual behavior that is starting to present itself to our society. The behavior that is not embarrassed by natural sexual desire, that seeks to indulge in that desire but not without purpose. Obviously the first purpose many would link to sex is reproduction, however the purpose presented in the novel is spiritual, Huxley refers to sex as "the yoga of love". In the story Huxley affirms our sexual desire in a positive way while establishing a more evolved "yoga of love".

In a sense people need to grow up. Sex doesnt make us dumb, we make ourselves dumb.

"the yoga of love" is not something recognized or practiced by the majority, so whether or not you believe there are positive ways to affirm your sexual desire in a postive way- the fact is, our society isnt/hasnt been taught/conditioned to think that way.

im not saying i agree with the article (OR FOX NEWS FOR that matter, but this thread wasnt to discuss the credibility of fox news so for those who are interested in doing so, feel free to take in up in you own threads)

the fact is, we as a society are in fact 'so overstimulated/bombarded' when it comes to sex, that most equate it with a sense of belonging and acceptedness that stems out of personal insecurities an inbalances.

the 15 year old girls fuckin 30 year old men, arent out doing that out of innate desire, it is psychologically based- as is the 30 year old man doing it, but his is about control.

I also think that saying that people are ashamed of sex in this day and age is absolutely hilarious, this aint the 50's anymore....if anything people have become too comfortable and desensitized to something that should otherwise be intimate and personal but here we are with it thrown in our faces through all outlets of media and then some....with the idea that sex/sexiness will make you more important and more desirable.


its very early for this, maybe i'll come back once ive had a coffee and dig deeper, but my point is- what you are saying is a pipe dream, and something that does not and will not ever exist in the western world (or the middle east, or....) its a way of thinking/living that is lost in this modern world.

 

It's hardly a pipe dream, it's just a matter of making significant change in our society. I am sure we can agree that since the sixties a sexual revolution has been taking place, its moving slowly but significant change usually does.

So much of our sexual behaviour has been brought out in the open and more people feel normal about their desires. However I still think that there are some feelings of guilt or embarassment involved with sex, an obvious couple of examples of this would be: this fox news article doing nothing more than degrading sex, the fact that sex isnt taken serioulsy by most of society (im sure most would see sex as a way to get off and nothing more than that), Sexual education is a joke and education of birth control is even worse nothing more than fear mongering telling kids that if they have sex (which they will) all the STD's they will contract, and I think one of the most problematic the issue of sexual identity in our society.

No this isnt the 50's anymore, however that doesnt change the fact that there are still very conservative outlooks on sexual behaviour that do nothing but hinder progress towards the ideal sexual behaviour.

The example you gave about the little girls sleeping with older men is hardly a perfect example of what you are trying to prove. I think that situation is far less common than what you are making it seem and even if it was commonplace its just goes to show how badly we need change. You cant list an example like this to incite serious emotional response when all it does is substantiate my argument.

My point remains the same sex is not at all to blame for our stupidity, we are. We let that girl and that man down, we are the reason a persons sexuality is nothing more than a joke to be made fun of, and we are the reason why sex remains this primal act with little or no meaning behind it.
