we should stop this money thing, its just conceptual with no basis in reality. Just trade goods and services, cut out the middle man. :)
the less dependent we are on money the more free we become

as long as humans are alive it seems something will always have value.
sadly that seems to always lead to corruption.

Well when I go to the store, I don't feel like walking two donkeys and some grain to buy what I need.
May not have as much money as I'd like, but I'm ok with sticking with the money system.

It doesn't have to happen all at once, I'm just saying the more simple exchanges are made, even trades between friends, maybe some music for other music, or a cup for a cup, or anything really (maybe a trade of thoughts, words and knowledge), the more flexible our system becomes and the more it reflects actual reality. Being so based in a mere concept with no substance isn't good. Like wonder why we are having a recession? Everything is exactly the same, there is the exact same amount of everything in the world, yet we say we a poorer? this seems kinda crazy to me...

Any action like that (the trade stuff) helps in bringing real substance to our dealings. In africa they used to use cowrie shells for currency but they also could be used for jewelry and all kinds of crafts, whereas mostly our paper money is just used for spending. Make art out off dollars, eat it (I heard eating money ensures prosperity).

    make incense out of it...

Good idea, and I like your approach. The problem with currency is that by it's very nature it encourages exploitation. If we did away with currency, managers and investors who don't add any intrinsic value to anything would be forced to work for a living for a change, and the over abundance of resources they squander would be distributed more equitably.

If you really look at it money is bartering, I trade my labor to my boss for helping him catch fish. And in return the give me notes (money) to trade for some other commodities and services. But if we went back to true bartering it wouldn't work very well for me because I don't own the quota to catch the fish or the boat.

If we went back to bartering a lot of us would be screwed, myself included, because most of us don't produce enough to justify what we consume. Instead we exploit cheap labor and resources in foreign countries.

The bright side is it would force us to consume less, and value what we have more.

Why use any means of exchange at all, be it money, barter, or something? What if everything was given away? Like there are lots of people who enjoy gardening and farming. These people could give away anything that was in excess of what they needed to feed those that did not enjoy or did not want to do such things. Most people who garden as a hobby do this already. With no need to work for money people would be free to do what they actually enjoy doing and in turn share that with others. Without money (or something of value) to hang over people's heads there would be little motivation to force them to do things they find morally wrong. With no motive for profit, why would anyone want to pollute the planet?

money is a forum of controll

    a system of debt
there is not enough money in existence to pay off all debts, and all money that technically exists does not actually exist, it is mostly all digital

with no real backing (atleast the dollar)

thats why every year money is worth less (ie. something costing 200$ verus 2$ 100 years ago)

if we got rid of money and used trade than if we wanted something of more vaule say a computer than we weould have to trade something of equal vaule and what might be equal vaule to you might not be equal vaule to me.

    Money is an ingenious invention.
regular trade limits the value to the material aspect, but money adds the aspects of space, time and risk.

For example , if in this moment in time I really need 100$ then its value for me is much higher than two years ago when I was a millionaire. The fact that the value of money can change in time and risk is very attractive to investors. Money allowed us to develop transportation and universal trade, it facilitated interaction between different cultures and ultimately contributed for the West's greatest contribution to mankind - modern Western medicine.

The constant search for equality is great when it's in the political realm , but in trade, equality (in the value of products) is simply wrong and it stagnates growth.

I find that as I meet people who are living a more natural/spiritual/on their terms life, we always end up trading something for something. It just seems to be a natural occurrence that is happening with people around here as their lifestyles change.

I think it's already been summed up why a barter system couldn't work in this society. In a very small one, yes.

i think that if we had like a trading system that was debt free that would be the best option, no debt, economical downfall, or banks

You know, we should start a website promoting the trade around the world.
