So, what is your reaction so far to the volcanic ash cloud that is looming over us all? Have any of you been affected by it? There was a really heavy fog this morning, and no clouds (or contrails) in the sky today, and I was wondering if that was something the ash could create? Is anyone just enjoying not hearing planes all the time? I find it rather peaceful.
I hope the length of time it is going to remain is grossly over-exaggerated by the "experts". I have to make a trip shortly and right now almost every airport in Europe is shut down. Selfish I know but right now my situation is more important than the possible ecological consequences.
Learned something listening to news reports about it...Didn't know there was a Liverpool John Lennon Airport...don't think any major US city has an airport named for a musician or artist...
My Da was suppose to be visiting his brother in spain and he cant, and my cousin was suppose to be comin home today but now she cant until monday i think??? it sucks
Yet Another Plane Load Of Pom's Were Booked To Imigrate To Arstralia.. Now It Appears They Can't Make It.... Volcanic Ash For The Win.... Cheers Glen.
I was meant to be sky-diving sunday, now the people in charge of the whole thing won't green light it until the day itself. Will be a shame if it gets in the way of that
Are you trying to start a panic all on your own? Am I the only one then that likes the fact planes are grounded? I think it should be a big wake up call as to how dependant we all are on the big flying machines and realize we need to do more domestically than trying to go abroad all the time. Surely there are trains/ferries that go to Europe when people do need to travel there? But well, I've never fully understood the concept of 'short haul' flights anyway, when other modes of transportation are just as good and use less fuel/cause less pollution. As far as sky diving, if your plane goes up and gets choked by the volcanic ash, you'd be having to sky dive for much different reasons.
Tell me about it lol,I was packed and ready to fly this weekend (Sunday) oh well cant be helped, just that no one can say when it will be safe.
I've got the cyanide at the ready and I've been parading the streets telling everyone that SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING omg :willy_nilly:
Been my experience that you can solve more problems by finding the people that are trying to do something, and making them stop.
im allways happy when there is no clouds in the sky...volcanic, or otherwise..... im actually quite suspichious why they are making such a big huh hah out of this..... a distraction to from some politics they are trying to sweep under the table no doubt...heh
Because this could actually kill people. If the engines of the plane get clogged up, it falls from the sky. Killing all on board, as well as those under wherever the plane falls. No, this isn't a distraction. However, I wouldn't put it past them to get up to some naughty stuffs when we aren't looking because we are all going "oooh, volcano".
So what they said then I'm waiting for ash tax soon, or volcano tax- I mean exploding volcano's are exciting, so in order to be allowed to enjoy it in any way we should be paying for the privilege.
