so i thought id tell it here cos im so excited ok, so its the last inning of the game and the other team's last at bat, and we're up by ONE. so the tying run is on first and a ground ball comes at me, im scared of ground balls, but i didnt jump out of the way like i usually do lol i got it and threw to second and got the runner out! and then right after that a fly came my way and i caught that too! and since i wasnt lucky enough already, the very next ball was another grounder right at me, which i threw to second again for the third out and everyone was cheering..... my team all started jumping on me and saying i saved the game, and i was so excited and they were all like "you got all three outs that inning!" and i felt like a hero haha just thought id share, thanks for listening...
Good for you.!Loves me some softball. Much, much more than baseball.Used to be a fastball pitcher. And #4 at bat. Are you playing city league?
Well, that's neat. Reminds me of when Bugs Bunny played the Gas House Gorillas single-handed and beat them. .
That story sucks, i have a better one. Once upon a time, i was dreaming, i was dreaming of reading a better story.
yeah, its an over 25 slowpitch league, its my first year playing, since i just turned 25 but i used to play fastpitch when i was in high school.
Great job kelz its rare that the ball is hit to the same person 3 times in a row let alone that person making all 3 outs.
Well personally,I've never tried slow pitch. After pitching fast pitch softball for years,it just wouldn't "feel" right to me. If you played in high school, wouldn't you rather play fast-pitch. Cool story you told, tho.
I played Baseball in high school I would probably rather play in a Adult Baseball league or Slow pitch personally. I'm doubtful about my skills these days for baseball, I think I would play one game and my arm would feel like it's about to fall off.
I tried baseball as a freshman in HS,but that damn ball scared me. When a guy threw a ball to/at me when I was looking the other way--and it tipped my ear-I knew I wasn't interested any more.I caught plenty of softballs without a glove, but I sure as hell wouldn't try that bare handed with a baseball.
Ha yah, baseball gets some crap about being soft and not being a contact sport but trying standing in the batters box when you have a 6'4 dude throwing a 93 mph fastball at you. If I worked out a bit more in high school as opposed to party and get high I probably could've went pretty far. I threw 84 as a freshman and made varsity that year. I only picked up a couple mph and threw 88 as a senior
Good speed. I don't know how fast I threw a softball.I don't think they had those radar guns then, but I relied on speed and placement mostly,so I could whip it pretty good. Oh,and a suckerball that was effective on good hitters.
No.I would do my regular windup, but --and this is hard to explain because I never saw anyone else do it--just as I released it ,I could somehow make it just float up to the plate really slow. The trick is-is when a guy has a few balls really whip past him and he's all ANXIOUS to smack it(that's the key) it floats almost in an arc and sometimes they would fall on their asess trying to get to it when it hadn't even got there yet.Only used it maybe once a game or so ,but was pretty dramatic if it got out #3. -------Are you still playing any organized ball? With that kind of speed, seems like you would.
naah, there's no fastpitch here for people my age, only for kids... next games tomorrow, im a little nervous i might let evry one down this time lol,
