Awe, thats too bad. I'm about to go and I really hope I don't get disappointed too. I have had really high expectations and have been so excited for quite a long time! My friend went last night to a midnight showing and said it was amazing.. but of course to each their own. I'll be smoking a bit before the show so that should enhance it some, hehe.
i didn't hate it, but i have to be honest...part of me wants to just love it cuz of well its fucking alice ya know? but it wasn't superb, but it was enjoyable. i will say that. i liked it, but all in all it wasn't amazing. have fun!
I liked it, but understand that it was OK and not really great. Just put up my movie blurb. Alice in Wonderland Movie Blurb by Shale March 5, 2010 This movie loosely ties together Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass and adds some new material that story purists will likely hate. But this is not your grandparents' Alice, nor for that matter mine. However, if you dare for a new imagining of an old story done many times in movies over the last century, this version directed by Tim Burton may have delights for kids of all ages. I saw it last night in 3D. I loved it. It was a lot like the books and I think the reason it got mixed reviews is because people were expecting a remake/sequel of the Disney movie. It had so many little elements from the book and I felt like the tone was captured entirely. Like Alice's attitude of complete acceptance when it came to all the craziness. A lot of people complained because the story was disjointed and things weren't introduced/explained properly, but it was that way in the books. It was along the lines of "This is how it is, now let's move on." All the crazy is almost normal because it's not portrayed as extraordinary. Anyway, I greatly enjoyed this movie and I'm definitely going to let my 5yo see it. He'd love it, especially the Red Queen.
i feel pretty much the same after watching it. it was so hyped and i went expecting a lot more. it was worth going to see for the 3D alone and i loved the cheshire cat (he's always been my favourite character) but all in all i wasn't that impressed. it had all the ingredients to be great and just kinda ...wasn't. shame really.
I wanted the Mad Hatter and Alice to have more sexual chemistry between them, I thought the little that was there was hot, in a weird, dark twisted way.
The movie could have done without the 3-D effects but I did like the style of the movie. The story...not so much. I practically forgot what the plot was.
If you like Tim Burton's style you will like this movie, but if you don't like Tim Burton's style, you won't.
