Good day all. This is my first post, not counting my introductory post (which was mediocre at best ). I am very much interested in psychedelia, especially art. I love surrealist paintings and such. Until now, I have only done research in books. I am working on a big art project. I wanted to integrate the beauty of the San Pedro cactus. The star shaping is so unique. A person I know was told that you can legally purchase the cactus. I am not a huge internet user and was not aware of this. So, my main question is, is San Pedro cactus 100% safe to buy over the internet in the U.S.? If so, are there places that supply the best product? I do not want to get ripped off. I realize to most of the readers of this post, I am likely looking like an ignorant noob. This is true in several ways. I apologize if this is inconveniencing anyone. And I am very thankful for your time, understanding and help. I would expect this would be a subject of some sensitivity. If you like, you can private message me. I do not mean to disrespect anyone or anything. I ask my question out of respect and in peace. Have a great one. ie:
Yes it is 100% legal to buy over the net in the U.S. Depending on where you live many nurseries may even carry it and in my area of southern california, it can even be found at the nearby target and walmart. It's a fairly common cactus here in Southern california. It's beautiful for a columar cactus as well. As far as quality of cacti goes that's a bit more complicated, i've never purchased it over the internet so I could not tell you. The percentage of mescaline and other psychoactive alkaloids varies greatly between each San Pedro Cactus. My tenative rule of thumb is the thicker the cacti is usually the more potent it is. That's been the case in my experience but I have under 10 experiences with it so that may not be safe to present as fact. About a foot produces a sub psychedelic 'cleansing' experience. Around 2 feet is where it becomes more truly psychedelic. Once you make any intentions of preparing the cacti you are dealing with a schedule 1 substance in mescaline.
Thank you very much for the help. Not to make you repeat yourself, but, does it vary state by state? I tried looking up NC's and OH's laws concerning the purchase. Those are the places that I spend time in the most. I could not find too much information.
I am unaware of any state laws regarding San Pedro being illegal. The latin name that it's under commonly at Target and walmart is Trichocerus Pachanoi. You may want to check out local cactus nurseries and stores with garden departments for that name.
I have worked wiv san pedro it is a truely awesome plant- enjoy your journey into greatness of universal soul medicine My cactus is growing in New Zealand, did you know if you cut the top off and set it in soil another wil grow from it? magik
Ive always wondered what the best way to eat it was. Ive never tried it because of the lack of certainty in tripping. Whats the best way to prepare it? I dont care about taste, I just want the method with the best chance of working. Cheers
Well take into account what I said about dosage varying between different cacti but i've found the most effective way is with about 2 feet to do a light boil of 18 inches of it, just enough so the mescaline that is contained in the dark green layer directly under the skin gets drained out. So I can do this within as little as 30-45 mins i usually do 3 separate boils as to make sure to get as most mescaline and alkaloids as possible, most people i know boil the stuff for hours. With the remaining 6 inches I ate just that same dark green layer like 'corn on the cob' while I was boiling the cacti. San Pedro is a little lighter trip to me than mushrooms and LSD but I still get occasional fear/paranoia and it sits in my stomach heavier than LSD. I found this dose to be perfect during the day to walk around and experience significant color enhancement, introspection and beautiful closed eye visuals, with it being not underwhelming or overwhelming. I prefer San Pedro to mushrooms personally in every way except for the preparation. Most people will tell you just to boil it, i've yet to try a strict boil but i've done research and some mescaline enthusiasts claim there is a slight reduction in potency when it's boiled for too long. The reason for not just strictly eating it is because eating 2 feet of cacti would take a long ass time and you would probably still be eating by the time you came up. The tea tastes pretty damn foul just a heads up, I don't find eating it that bad but it's for sure not something I would do if it wasn't psychoactive. It's about a 10 hour high at this dose for me with a 1 1/2 hr period before the comeup, a 6-8 hour high and then about 2 hours of coming down. So plan accordingly, I have also got a headache before while coming down so maybe have some advil, ibuprofen, vicodin, weed, alcohol, whatever you use for headaches. Some trip tip for San Pedro: Go outside: I find a strong appreciation for nature and just being outside on mescaline as strong as any other substance. Listen To Music: I don't find it effects music quite as much as some other psychedelics but if you have never listened to music on psychs or strictly marijuana it's still altered quite a bit by San Pedro. Sex: Tied with methylone it is the most euphoric sex i've ever had on a drug, and sex with music on is win. Meditate: If you are a spiritual person I think this is an easier substance to meditate on then LSD or mushrooms as it has more of a flowing feeling to it and your mind is still very much yours as opposed to the overwhelming intensity the other two can have where they feel like they are invading your mind. Day Trip: This is highly subjective, but unless you are camping or something I recommend doing a day trip, i've done two night trips and I thought that would be amazing with this substance but I dunno the fear factor was increased a lot and it just didn't feel as warm and comforting as doing it during the day.
San Pedro is 100% legal to purchase for ornamental cultivation. They are a beautiful cacti. Sometimes its not really worth it to chop it down.
