Doesn't matter what it costs. Finding a new connect... you are gonna be overpaying for the first month or two (depending on how much you use). That first connect should introduce you to people. Other users. After overpaying a few times you will then go through said user(s). aNd be ripped off one or two more times, you are banking on the junky's hooking you up to release some info or give you a number... which they will, as long as you dangle a little something beneath their noses... This is how it goes, unless you're some God-Tier drug fiend... and if you were, you wouldn't be here.

Ha, its finding a new connect thats the problem. Years ago it was no problem but I wasnt interested then. Now that I am that little bit older all I am left with is 'online' support. Advice I have been given is to trawl the local red light areas or needle exchanges which is great except for lack of confidence. I fully expect to have to supplement another user to start with but am more concerned with seriously being ripped off or robbed if you know what I mean.
Mmm, it's kinda tricky if you're not in London. That said, once you want to try smack, you don't find it, it finds you. If you're into other drugs, you have to milk milk milk your contacts. Somebody somewhere will know someone who does gear. You're right, you don't need anyone that even sells it - just someone that does it. If you're not already into drugs then you might be a bit stuck. No pun intended. What's your story?
Well I havent been into opiates long, about the last three years or so. I did dabble with 'done when I was a lot younger which was greatfully donated by somebody who was scripted but I wasnt interested really back then, kind of prefered my a's and e's. Hurt my back a few years ago and went to the doc's and he gave me 30/500 cocodamol (100pack). I had my two every four hours of those and liked the feeling. Anyway, cut a long story short found out about OTC cocodamol and cwe and was well away for a matter of months. Woke up one morning and realised that the night before I had taken a rediculous amount and that it had to come to an end so just went cold turkey which too bad. A few months later I started to dabble again but a bit more carefully and after doing research found out about pods on ebay. Got a bit fed up of them after a while so once again quit. Nowadays, hopefully a bit older and wiser I keep my usage under control. Thing is that even when I was on the pods I was getting a bit bored with it and it wasnt doing what it used to. I guess I am just after more!!

Well Cathays is the student area Not that I studied in Cardiff but that area was right for my age! Had actually just started teaching at UWIC at that time. Don't really wanna say too much but a pretty close family member of mine is fairly high up in Cardiff uni. What do you study?
Thanks for the replies. I think my soul was lost to opiates in general the first time I tried them. The thread that pOppie started yesterday was very poignant and at times of reading peoples experiences of losing people it does cross my mind what on earth I am up to. But the truth is I know the dangers and also know that this is something that I will be doing when the opportunity arrives. Having experienced the pleasures of the 'lesser' opiates, combined with reading of peoples experiences on Heroin I know it is a path that I am already heading down. Maybe part of me is fooling myself that I would be able to be a chipper, or that I might do it a few times and think 'yep.. that was good but no more'. That is what I would like but we will have to see.
You never know the dangers quite enough. Trust me. No matter how much you think you know what you are doing...you never really have any idea until you are either beating your best friend/loved one in the face, praying to see some color return in his or her lips, frantically trying to dial 911 on your shitty cell phone with your free hand, then seeing him vomit through his nose and mouth...or.. you are sitting in the back of the sheriffs paddywagon in handcuffs with 14 other people who also got caught buying dope that day. That shit follows you your whole life.
Yep, I guess there is a difference between knowing of the dangers and having experienced the dangers. I live in hope that none of the above will happen to me just like the majority of people who use this site will. That said, there are an awful lot of people who will come to Heroin ever day, some who are innocent and have no idea whatsoever what they are getting into, and others who have been educated by the media or other forms of advice and have a knowledge of the danger. I have always been alone in my opiate journey which is the way I have always preferred it to be honest. It is not something I am proud of and the fewer the people know about it the better. I therefore have no one else to blame. At this stage tho, being alone is proving to be a negative as despite the papers saying that the uk streets are washed with Heroin I now realise that it is not as open as they make you believe.
Im in the North east of England, and you can buy £5 bags, £10 bags, and its between £20 - £25 for 1/2 a sixteenth .. trouble is 9 times out of 10 its been bashed to hell before it even hits the streets .. Imo H in england isnt even a patch on what it should be at all, its shite, but for some reason still find it hard to leave alone, as im on yet another relapse at the moment !
