I am interested in something i can put in the crockpot and let it cook all day or night, that is spicy hot. Any ideas or experiences you guys want to share? I have tried some creative things, only to toss them.
curry! i make curry in the crockpot all the time... just let it sit all day and soak in the juices.. :drool5: i also make my tofurky in the crockpot.. keeps it from burning or getting dried out.
I make veggie chilli This recipe looks good I might try it this week. http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Spicy-Vegetarian-Chocolate-Chili-Crock-Pot-if-Desired-279821
whitechili minus the chicken.. light colored beans, salsa, yer choice of cheese (i use pepperjack shredded) and some corn if you want.. and let it simmer all day. it's amaaaazing.
i make two different curries.. but the one that works the best is my veggie curry. potatoes, carrots, cubed tofu, chickpeas, onion, lentils, zucchini, cauliflower, spinach, or peas... any combination of these will work. this is the brand of curry mix i use... http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/product/golden-curry-mild-3-5-oz they have a couple different types of curry mixes.. you should be able to find it at any store in the US. www.vegweb.com also has a few good curry recipes.
thanks, i plan on trying this with some Jamaican powdered yellow curry a friend brought me from home. I will post the outcome.
Another solid, easy dish is Rice N' Beans, I learned how to make it when I lived in Jamaica; Simply put a bunch of rice, a can of kindey/black beans and a tin of coconut milk in the pot and let it simmer. Adding some jalapenos or curry powder can spice it up. Easy, cheap and delicious.
