I was writing my Dad a letter last night when I decided to quickly write this poem before I stuffed his letter into the envelope. My Dad is in prison and I usually send him bits of my poetry because he likes to read them and says he is getting to know his daughter through her poetry. Little does he know that most of the poetry in the last couple of months I have written have mostly been influenced by my new experiences with drugs such as E, LSD, etc. This poem was inspired by my first 2ce trip. Electric Eternity 6 April 2010 I have lived many lives in hours alone I have been to the jungles of South America And crossed across that wide stretch of forest In mere moments of time I have looked toward the sky To see that the trees blocking my view Were more angelic than the heavens themselves I have felt such a rush of energy inside me That the tips of my fingers to the ends of my toes Felt as if they were going to burst And shine a light so bright it would wash away The falsehood of this world. The Electric Eternity Last only so long but the gifts that it gives Leaves imprints so deep Giving many lives in one.
awesome dude you think you will ever tell him about what it is that is influencing some of your pieces?
Thanks. :] My Dad is a Meth Addict. He always tells me how proud he is that my sisters and I don't do drugs. I might tell him in the future but that would be a long time from now.
Thanks Matt12345. That's kind of you. :] Makes me feel less shy about perhaps sharing some of my other work as well. :]
