According to a Hollywood Rag, Warner Brothers President Jeff Robinov, they will no longer make movies with Women as the lead character. It seems the last two movies they made like that did poorly, and the Warner moguls refuse to take responsibility for choosing poor scripts or poor management. So instead they blame Women for their problems. In response, Gloria Allred is calling for a Boycott of Warner Brothers films. http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/warners-robinoff-gets-in-catfight-with-girls/ I'm wondering if this isn't some kind of Political Ploy to keep strong women out of the limelight, especially during this upcoming political season when a woman is running for president. It's almost like they don't want women portrayed as heroes, because if the country is determined to go to war with Iran, we need a MAN in charge, not a woman. So Hollywood mustn't portray ANY woman as a hero according to Warner Brothers, at least until after the elections... Well that's my take on it anyway...
I don't that Warner's has a political agenda. It's just another example of their poor marketing strategies. When it backfires on them, they will change their policies once again. They ought to look at the material their executives are selecting to produce. They were just poor decisions no matter what sex the star was.
since this was posted they've made The Blind Side, Sex and the City, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, Hairspray 2, P.S. I Love You, The Brave One, Nights in Rodanthe.... that sure turned out to be true....
