Hi, I would like to be a vegetarian.
I am finding new foods that I like and have cut out most red meat. I still eat chicken and fish although much less and also bacon occasionally. My favourite foods are things like casserole and roast dinners and quiche and these are the meals I am having problems with finding a tasty alternative. I have found many alternatives for others meals i really like. Sometimes I go for 3 days with no meat or fish. My reasons are that I am not that fond of meat anyway, and I'm very fussy with it, also sometimes the thought of it makes me feel sick. I think i am doing very well so far and have cut down on the amount of meat that goes into the meals I do have. I would just like some advice if anyone has any.

    Thankyou

    jane

    Simple and tasty

Some green or black lentils (I favour Puy lentils)
Boil in sufficient water added either thyme or rosemary

    Boil some potatoes
Mash the potatoes together with some butter and milk (for a vegan alternative you can use olive oil)

Mix the lentils and mashed potatoes.
If you use thyme you can garnish with bell peppers since they go very well with thyme.

    Bon Apetit

In general you can't just leave out meat without replacing it with something else. And if you are not going to eat meat you might aswell make something tasty and delicious out of it.

www.vegweb.com has a lot of recipes.

Another advice apart from nutrition etc. is that you once a week try to experiment a bit with the food you make. In two out of three it will not go so well, but eventually you might discover something that tastes good.

Did you know that root celery and small amounts of capers go well together?
