So I am sitting here in my room lacking the motivation ot get ready for work because it's my first week and I already HATE it with a passion. With that said, what gets you through the day? Usually music helps me but I can't listen to music there...
Music. A day doesn't go by without music in my house. It was the first thing I would do when got in from work, I hated that place so much. Now I've quit, I still need my music. Oh and drink and drugs, of course.
Sports; Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics If I’m not playing basketball or mountain biking I’m watching the Red Sox, Patriots, or Celtics, and if I’m in my car I’m listening to sports talk radio Hotwater
What got me through many crappy jobs was my pride... the fact that I knew I was there with a purpose, to save up money and move onto something better. As long as I have ambition I could look someone in the eye, smile and say 'heres your pizza'!
What gets me through the day is not some kind of hedonistic distraction or anything (those are what get me through the weekends)...What gets me through the day is my sense of humor and fighting spirit.
When I walk to work, and when I walk home, I have a playlist of my absolute most uplifting, happiest songs on my iPod. I look forward to the walk home because of that. Then, I look forward to a good home-cooked meal. When I'm at work though, I keep singing in my head, all those songs... Also, the prospect of two 15 minute breaks coming up throughout the day, that's something to work towards.
i'm in the army so i need massive amounts of drugs and alcohol to keep me from offing myself. anybody who has ever been in will know what i'm talking about. this shit is beyond ridiculous. music helps too.
