All my days working in a hospital, I loved wearing shoes and socks all the time. With all the walking I did my feet felt so protected and so clean. All them dudes with flipflops, WTF? And people who carried on about not wearing nothing on their feet, what's up with that? All that filth on the ground. Shoes rule!
Hey, let's look ahead to the great barefoot weather that's coming in now. Can't wait until the pavements heat up!
I don't see how that is a joke Hospitals are the worst place to be sick. With a compromised immune system (following surgery, for example) healing is more difficult in such an environment. Cancer patients often cannot fly because of the closed air circulation in the cabin. So hospitals are one arena where footwear is encouraged due to germs in the air and on the ground. That being said, it's not just for health reasons that shoes are good for you. Although I do enjoy the comfort and freedom of going barefoot, have tough soles and don't at all mind dirty feet I must say that at times I do like to dress up and do the town in style and class. A pair of six inch Gucci stiletto heels, Sheer Energy hose, fishnets over them can really make you stand out and look cool. Footwear, or lack thereof, is a personal choice and one should not be criticized for either.
How long do you think it will be before somebody in America passes a law against being without shoes in public? Control-freak conservatives should love it, and I doubt if many liberals would be opposed to it, except for the small minority that would be directly affected.
I am quite prone to be pessimistic but this time I think it is excessive from your side. I've heard about such laws, but in fascist Portugal , not in decent countries .
