Baraka has to be one of the best 'plotless' movies EVER.
Anyone seen some of the other movies by this guy?
What's the one about the Hopi prophecies? Koinnnigsskii(sp?)
I had the soundtrack (by Phillip Glass!)
but never actually saw the flick.

Also, what is everyones FAVORITE part of Baraka?
Mine is 'Tree Falling'...it almost triggers an orgasmic climax in the
dark core of my belly!!! :D :D :D
    no.
    really.

i've seen this. this is a triology (i guess you could call it that) they are called koyaanisqatsi "life out of balance" and nagoquatsi "life as war", and powaqqatsi "life in transformation". the three movies, like baraka, have little to no dialogue. they film various places around the world and show the transformations of life on earth thorough various cultures. "What had been a more or less peaceful, slow-moving, spiritually fulfilling rural existence for these "silent" people (all we hear is music and sound effects) becomes a crowded, suffocating, accelerating industrial urban hell, from Peru to Pakistan. "(Robert Burns Neveldine-amazon.com) Yo-Yo Ma plays cello on the third of the triology. I recommend renting the triology one weekend and watching all of them, consequetively. the movies are thought provoking, to say the very least.
