This was being discussed in another thread, but I wanted a little more clarification. If SWIM was to get a P.O. box for the final stop of RC shipments, would the supply companies ship to this sort of address? Most likey it would be ordered from our friendly neighbors. Anyone know anyone that has ordered from them before? Also, about what size are the packages that show up? Assuming all the orders are under 1 gram. Kind of off topic but did anyone here happen to also post on BLTC when &T was still alive? I used to post over there a lot under this same tag.
I have a private mail box (it's an actual street address at a UPS store), but i don't see why most vendors wouldn't ship to PO boxes - more business for them.
If you could get a street address one that would be better imo. I do think that some vendors will not shit to a PO box, for whatever reason idk. I know that some vendors will not ship to a different address IF you use a cc for say moneygram. It has to go to the cc billing address. All sources are different, but I'm sure plenty of them will ship to a PO. That's why I say a street address type would be better.
I fight the tide on this one. Being regularly remotely located, privatized shippers have ample chance to rifle through my 'mail'. It is OFTEN stolen/lost, costs too much, AND (in my limited experience) more routinely opened for inspection and subject to love letter arrivals (bitch n moan). My street address in an 'urban zone' has me in the pathway of the destitute who walk from welfare housing to the soup kitchen every day. I know my mail has been stolen more than once by peoples unknown, on the curbside... And couriers so lazy that if a delivery seems to be a long walk out of the truck into unknown (be ware of) dogg territory, would just throw it out of the truck on the side of the road n speed along their route - I know UPS has arrived if I hear a knock on the door and no ones there except a package, have to run to catch glimpse of the brown truck to yell out a thankyew. Would have to pay for 2nd day air which takes twice that time to/from herenow, triple insure and receipt of signature on delivery to have confidence in trusting them. And while the clerks at competing shippers may seem equally hospitable and friendly, I find that 'for-profit' private couriers are more inquisitive and curious about what you are sending/receiving and why; like you are Mr. Claus, and they have been good children all year... or that you may be AKA D B Cooper. Not my cup of tea. I'm familiar with my postal officers, and we make friendly chit-chat, but it never gets too 'interrogative' - presumptively I may complain to their master about inappropriate behavior? Things which would be common in a couriers office, like their stole- ahem, i mean lost phenomenon. Postmaster would rather smile, wish me well, mention the weather, and only followup on any information I initiated, as a social grace, then continue their job. Reoccurring current bad juju at my street address is receiving mail for credit card applications for someone I went to school with, and is (was; hes now an opener/operator of a tattoo parlor - but the registry for him in his prior job exists) in the same business/industry as me, and later learning that persons sister was a meth cook hang-around who I'm sure can find my street address. Now I'm involved in the fraud somehow as the applications are sent to my address in care of my business, not anyone else. I've known more than one person who spent/spending time in jail for fraudulently applying for credit cards (of their friends no less - damn them ebil droogz). AND I bet more people know when my 'public access' mailbox is full than I do. That's why I have a POB for security sake, and signature required for my expressed packages. If a retailer cannot negotiate delivery through/to USPS (and accept POB delivery) I will not commit to the transaction. Another bad trick is outsourcing. I once had a stun gun priority mailed to me. I followed tracking, and its record shows it went onto a truck, 500 miles from me for final delivery - after that package flew and landed in the city of delivery, then a week passes when it should take less than that time round trip, for people who are silly enough to not know the shorter distance between point A and B (I briefly awaited news of an overturned mail truck spilled across a mountainside on an icy downhill fall) AND unnervingly state they let my package have a 1000 mile vacation before they posted notice of confirmed delivery (false - Something is rotten in the state of Denmark)! I start making complaints to every known department. Several days later, in the darkness of night, my stun gun is in my mailbox, opened and taped closed, and closely inspecting the USPS 'home/business' printed shipping label I notice in small print that UPS was the handler for this delivery. ! I showed the document of delivery confirmation and tracking to my delivery-person promptly once I saw record of delivery confirmation. He denied any knowledge of that package on that day and simply suggested it was stolen. I had to chase him down the block to have that conversation, and he sped away, and now has a new route. He was a good delivery person who never did us wrong and would treat every piece of mail as if it were the ashes of his own dead mother, (he joked about how he knew when someone was ordering bullion, following his long walk to hand deliver my heavy/dense package) and I presented gifts on postal worker appreciation day - but suspect he had his fill of the discord which now swarms around this circuit. In this city you can even get away with addressing letters to the wrong town, or zip - but there is only one POB with that particular name on it, in this region. Thank the powers that be, postal workers are so damned honest and helpful... in my experience - they routinely find and deliver mail which logically may be destined for the black hole . So, though some claim to skirt trouble by avoiding official postal service, I reflect that I am often protected by the laws which govern their protocol, as much as I notice the posters of prohibited items to put in the mail when going to the post office, the FBI most wanted, etc state sponsored 'scare propaganda'. BOO!! Did I scare ya? Anyhow, whatevers clever feller. What may work for you, great. But I'll note not everyone is located in the same neighborhood at the same time, using the same wrapping on their presents and paying identical shipping costs; customs vary, so "When in Rome...."
yeah well the people at the UPS store definitely know me by now, as some weeks i'll go in multiple times to receive my mail - i probably look sketchy but it's not like they could / would do anything. obviously they probably know i'm getting drugs delivered there but why would they ever open my mail? if i'm correct its a felony to open someone else's mail. i payed them 108 bucks to rent it for 6 fucking months so it's not like they have anything to complain about.
I forget, what was it we were supposed to be talking about? Oh yea, the relevance of POBs and RCs. I apologize for ranting about my misfortune with other methods, and attached phenomenons. A proper business will deliver to the address you state, no questions necessary, or will just explain they will not, and possibly why. It's just business and your gold is as shiny as anyone elses. Less than a gram? You could practically tape that to a post card, wrt size. I dunno yer friends or neighbors - maybe they got a thing for putting unnecessarily huge boxes in the delivery supply line; I could probably fit a fistful of grams into one little envelope.
When I was just a young, foolish, unprosecutable minor, I demanded my online dealer ship through a courier, to break tradition, as they were the only shippers open for a span of time, and I was wanting -1day air I was so rushrushrush. Detectives show up at my door sniffing around, saying they got me on tape callin' [the courier company] askin' where's my package, which was late. I reply with my lawyers business card and they reciprocated with their own calling cards, such gentlemen. Who broke the law in that (non)case? I still peed my pants n lived in a safehouse for a week thinking the two suits were the 'good cops' tactic, before smershing me into submission swat-stylee. WTG coppers! You got a kid to cry an took his candy/lunch-money away from him! That's justice! I think its a felony (or federal offense, or a witch dunking, idk) to tamper with US Postal Service items. Couriers are fly by night do what they want people, I characterize/generalize. But I imagine once reading the fine print stating they reserve the right to do whatever they want with anything they have their grubby hands on.
ship through a courier as opposed to what, normal USPS mail? which courier did you use? i get it shipped to the box with normal mail, its just the UPS store where the mailbox is located.
Yes. FedEx I believe. There is a regional UPS delivery service present herenow, but they do not offer mailbox rentals. Places that do that type of service here are 'closing down', with more people using USPS general delivery.
Most won't ship to p.o. boxes. Has to have st. address. But not all. some in usa will shipp anywhere. cash is all they care.
