    Hey everyone....

I'm a one man band...and for a while now, I've wanted to record my own version of "If You Want To Sing Out" by Cat Stevens.

I have two ways in mind to do it....either I make it the same style as the original version (which gives it a "free" feeling), or I speed it up and give it more of a fast punkish sound...

...Which style do you think would sound best?
    opinions? =)

    Is this the song ?

I dont rate it, I'm afraid, so my advice would be dont do it at all :)

However... seems like the sort of song that you cant really change very much anyway, probably a "punk" version wouldn't work very well.

Add some percussion and restructure around that perhaps ?

Quick and punky would work, I hear it. I mean there's aren't so many chords so you can just whack it down with a few power chords and some quick drums.

Personally, I believe you should just do it however Cat Stevens hasn't done it. Whether that's punk, jazz, electro- make it your own!

I have done some weird cover versions in my time. My personal favourite was a slow electro class version of Lullaby by The Cure.

    Happy playing!
