i've been doing some research on social anxiety and different way to deal with it. Along with excerise, a healthy diet, and meditation, i've been finding articles that suggest taking passion flower daily. Has anyone out there tried this? Thoughts?
I've tried it mixed with mugwort and damiana. Smoking that mixture was like a super mild pot buzz that only lasted 45 mins. I also tried it in a tea, but got no noticeable effects. It may help with anxiety a little, but I don't think it would help with social anxiety at all.
i never tried it, but i did hear of it. i guess it couldn't hurt to try! believe it or not, what helped my social anxiety the most was just getting out there and being in situations that felt risky or initially uncomfortable to me. when i was at some of my lowest points, i was only going grocery shopping late at night, and turning around and going back home from gatherings, etc.. so i know what this is like it takes some time and mental and emotional strength, but if you could bring yourself to try a few things it could really help sorry i wrote so much.. i know this isn't even what you were looking for but it came to mind, hope it helps eace:
Well i'm not big on tea in the first place, but it taste horrible. My friend who made it for us and actually enjoys tea did not even finish. I did finish but I was regretting every single sip. It may have been one of the other herbs in there as well but does not seem worth it in my opinion.
Maybe this seems wrong, but go to some place public and have a couple of drinks. I'm being serious. When I have a few drinks ( not too many, don't get drunk, just buzzed) you feel less anxiety about talking to people. If you get drunk you may not remember the feeling the next day. Remember that feeling, and it will be easier to duplicate in the end.
Yeah, but you can't spend the rest of your life depending on drink so get you out of the house. Passion flower appears to be good for many things, it helps me sleep when I have anxiety and have too much going round my head, so it should be pretty good for social anxiety too. Give it a go for a couple weeks and see
