Just wondering if anyone else here's into free running? For those of you who don't know what it is, free running involves flipping, climbing buildings and doing jumps on objects such as playgrounds. It is also called parkour and if you look it up on youtube some people are crazy. I'm not really that good, I can do a frontflip and sideflip on flat ground, and I front flip off a lot of things. The highest building I've climbed so far is about 3 stories high, not that high, but still it's when it's a poll climb straight up and 5 feet between the top of the poll and the ledge of the roof, kinda scary balancing on the top of a poll that high up. It's really cool though, I love free running. Anyone else?
I tried for about a year but there just wasnt enoguh suitable places in my town to get good...no community for it either
I'd love to be able to do it, but I would end up killing myself or breaking like 13 bones. lol Not to mention, I'm just not in well-enough shape to do it.
It requires you to be mad fit. I just don't have the body type, (6'3, 200lbs), or stamina to even attempt.
I used to try to do some with a buddy a while back. I still do the jumps and rolls off tall things every now and then, and I've got some of the jumps, but there is no way I could ever grow the balls to attempt flips of buildings without some serious training first, lol.
I was friend with a guy who did that stuff with a bunch of people. he could do wall-flips.prety cool.
pretty much the exact same here...well, that, and i came to realize that i am FARRR to lazy for that kind of stuff....
iv tried it, being afarid of heights makes it pretty intense though. i cant do the flips and stuff but the climbing and jumping of stuff i can handle.
I have been watching many different parkour videos lately for inspiration. There are some pretty damn insane people out there. I've tried it with a few friends at a local state park and we all had a great time climbing up these wooden stairs that scaled large pieces of limestone. Shorty after we ran through the woods to smoke a few fat bowskis.
I "used" to beable to do alot of flips and run up walls. I climbed tree around powerlines for yrs. And we were exspected to climb between 50-100 trees a day. So it was fast pasted. but free running was not "in" then. the wall running and flips was about it. I broke my back ten yrs ago at work. So my flippin days are over. sucks!"Hippie flippin" is all i got now hahaha Have fun and don't mess up
My friend can climb shit sooo well... He's like 5'10 120 lbs, and he can climb a bare column or pole. It's insane. Really quick too. He can get ok the roof of a 1 story buildig just bu running and jumping/ climbing. He's smoking too much to be not lazy though.
