Question: One who is a non conformist does not conform, but doesn't that mean they are conforming to non-conformism? A paradox.
Would you happen to have an example of a paradox, i seem to be misunderstanding the concept. I thought it meant something along the principles of irony.
Let’s say you decide to travel from point A to point B In order to reach point B you have to travel halfway, and from that halfway point you have to travel halfway, and so on …. i.e. according to Zeno of Elea (zeno’s paradox) you can never reach your destination Hotwater
There was a sketch called 'The Rules and Regulations' on an old Smothers Brothers show back in the 60s. A group of young people are starting out a new anarchy group and talking to their leader who says there will be no rules. One member says to the leader: "But we need to have at least some rules." The leader responds: "Sorry, no. Those are the rules." .
if they are consciously conforming to a particular brand of nonconformism, yes. it is also possible to do something entirely unique, just because it's who you are. that just doesn't happen often.
I was just thinking that the whole conception of non-conforming is an idea one has to actually conform to in order to "practice" it seeing that it's a variable. or simply: one who chooses to be a non-conformist does so as other non conformist, making them a group themselves. so they would be conforming to the concept of it. sorry if this isn't as logical as i thought it would be. haha. maybe i'm just speaking nonsense.
i loved the smother's brothers. man they were so funny. anyway, i suppose you're only a douche if you deliberately conform to the nonconformist regulations then brag about what a nonconformist you are. otherwise it's just fashion.
