OK Kool. If you can post it today, I will show it to Sarah and hopefully she can finish making them this week during Spring Break. I hope they turn out good. Since, I don't own any real shoes, It would be nice to have something that I could fool people with in certain situations.
What they look like before wearing The fronts The backs Both The ends are just tired in a knot. Or you can use a bead + loop method like how you secure hemp necklaces
Thanks Liz. I notice you make yours go all the way up your ankles. Since I'm a guy I would probably just want them to tie in the back somehow. I also notice that you put the loop around two of your toes instead of one, but I imagine this is optional. So, have you had luck wearing these into places that are anal about shoes? I totally gave up on shoes 2 years ago and haven't own any since. I just thought it would be nice to have something for places like certain night clubs or places that are not as lax about bare feet. P.S. I noticed all your toes are painted different colors, that looks really cool...lol
Yeah then the single tie would be your best bet or the bead and loop, these are my demostration ones that I sell, so when i have people come over to try them on so they can custom they are that long. I prefer just the bead and loop. and single toe. If they are just hemp no beads people cant tell if they are shoes or not, but when you add beads randomly people tend to questions.
Can anyone else help? A friend of mine wants to make these for me, but she needs a photo of the back of someone's feet while wearing them. Since I am a guy, I would like them to not go all the way up my ankles. I just want them to attach or tie simply and also not really using a large ball or something obvious that people would know they are not real sandals. If my friend has a picture of how to finish the backs, she can make them for me, so that I won't get into trouble as much when I go into certain places barefoot. Please HELP.
I did look on google but all of the barefoot sandal pics I find are of the front. Nothing shows how they attach in the back.
They are pretty as foot jewelry, but in all honesty, they will not trick anyone into thinking you are wearing shoes.
If they are done right they definately fool people unless they are staring at and studying your feet. That is why I want to make them out of black hemp, the dark color looks more like the tops of flip-flops. I have seen a girl wearing these last summer, and it even fooled me until I looked more closely and discovered they were barefoot sandals.
Is there anyone else out there who has made these out of hemp? Can you PLEASE take a picture of them being worn, but from the back so I can get some ideas of how to tie them in a nice and neat way. My friend Sarah offered to bring her hemp to school tomorrow and try this but we need pics and ideas. HELP!!
just tell her to be creative and figure it out, I have given you tips, now its up to her to be creative.
OMG, that was mean of you to say. Take a look at my profile. I am always barefoot, that is why I would like to finally make these. If I would be one of those creeps, I wouldn't ask for pics of the back...lol
yep I know you are always barefoot, you haven't owned shoes in what 2 or 3 years? Just seem to be asking for a lot of photos of girls feet. By all means make and wear barefoot sandels, but do you really have to keep asking people to show you photos?
Button and loop closure would probably look better on a dude than being tied in a bow. And pictures can be googled, don't be creepy.
Boy you guys are being harsh on me. I wasn't asking for pics of girls feet, just back photos of the barefoot sandals and how they can be attached. If I wanted pics of girls feet I wouldn't ask for the backs. Geeez. Why is everyone being so sceptical and paranoid? Loosen up, chill out, tune in and drop out... you sound like a bunch of uptight conservative republicans...lol
If Sarah remembers to bring the hemp today, we will be attempting this project at school. I will let you all know how they turn out. A big thanks to the positive folks on this thread who tried to help me out. Peace!!
People are cautious because this is the internet, not a coffee shop. Anyway...you don't need to see the backs of people's feet to make these, they are made basically the same way as hemp necklaces, google closures for them and you'll see what you're looking for.
