Has anyonr applied to umass this year or has applied in the past? Its my top choice school and they still haven't sent me anything and it makes me feel so crazy. I'm out of state but idk if that has anything to do with it.

out of state generally takes longer, with any school. if you're really worried, call the school and inquire as to the location of any needed papers.

Its just crazy though cuz all my friends applied to out of state schools and all already got most of their letters. On the online application status it says its got all of my papers and scores so I don't think that's it.

perhaps umass is just less organized in comparison to other schools.
if the online status says they have your scores and applications... it'll come in due time. they're most likely just processing everything at a different rate than other schools.

    but think about this... i've heard that it takes longer for school to send their letters if the applicant got in (;

    did you apply anywhere else?

That's great news! I applied to uconn ans got into the waterbury campus, but I really really really don't want to stay in this shitty town. I'm going to apply to suffolk very soon though.

Most schools don't have to inform you until April if their decision deadline isn't until the end of May. I can imagine the wait being pretty nerve racking, shit waiting to see my financial aid package to the University of Illinois at Chicago is pretty anxiety brewing.

i applied to umass but dont really remember when i heard back from them. you could always try giving them a call to see the range for when acceptance letters are sent out. i wouldnt ask about your specific application. i would give it another week and a half though.

you should def come to umass

out of curiosity, why do you want to go to umass? you could go to unconn and get pretty much the same experience

I need to get the fuck out of CT. I know too many people that go to uconn and I went to umass for a visit and I had good times. It just feels like the perfect school

    ahhh you and sara both!!

nope, no more wvu. their pharmacy program is subpar to uconn's... as well as pretty much everything there (although i was definitely groovin on the "rough" atmosphere). there were just more pros for uconn than wvu, althought wvu's basketball team is kicking ass atm

word, i went to UMass amherst... i applied for spring semester though so i dont know when you'll hear back about the fall semester.

are you going to umass amherst? cuz its a crazy school... really easy academically. lots and lots of drugs, lots of parties, and lots of hot girls.

in fact i nearly got kicked out of umass... they "asked me to leave and never come back." so i withdrew that day and never looked back.

seriously, i was only there for half of a semester but it was awesome and i had a really great time.

PS - they have a great agriculture dept, which is where i was studying botany. the teachers are aging hippy types and the other kids are wicked chill naturalists, for the most part. Prof. Craker is always applying for grants for medical marijuana research and he is a legitimately cool dude.

Last I knew they actually had swat teams at the fire statoin in town to shut it down. hahaha Amherst is such a kool place. enjoy your stay.Good festivals in area too. On or around labor day is "worm fest" in Greenfield. Its probally 30 mins. away. best fest in northeast. :D

I've partied there this january when classes weren't in session at the girls swim house, and it was pretty nuts. I can only imagine how they are IN session. Can anyone who went there telll me about where the good parties are at/good frats to join/where the hottest ladies go? Also, isomeone also said the classes were easy. I got a 2.75 gpa for all of high school, took 6 AP classes, one uconn class, 1600 SAT score, 26 ACT and 11/12 on the writing portion. How does that compare to the average students there?

good parties are everywhere there are students... frats typically have the same party every night of the week, but they always draw a crowd. the journalists throw good parties, lots of drugs, i first tried molly at party thrown by the newspaper staff after a deadline. go to Hampshire College for the Halloween bash. the hottest ladies are in your psychology class or living in SouthWest, the coolest hippy like girls live in Central... there is surely someone who knows better than i do, but i hope that helps.

is that 1600 of 2400 or 1600 of 1600? in general i think you would be cruising A student as long as you pick a major you enjoy. my scores werent a lot better(2130/2400 sat, 3.8 gpa in highschool, not as many AP) and i basically felt like i was among a bunch of retards in the 100 level courses, in the 200 levels and up i felt there was more competition.

    so yeah, its pretty easy...

umass can be easy or hard depending on what program of study you choose and how well you apply yourself to the academics. their business school is very good and well funded. its also challenging but presents students who do well with a lot of opportunities. you just have to decide if youre there to slack and party or have fun but still excel academically. if you want the down low on the area and an unofficial guide, just let me know.
