On the 30th anniversary of their album (and yes that is technically '79 and not 80s, but hey, The Cars are kinda the quintessential 80s group right) Candy O, In The Studio has exlcusive interviews with front man Ric Ocasek and Greg Hawkes, stream them in entirety from the site! 80s fans Enjoy!!
i know i am a shill, but, honestly, i wouldnt shill if it werent for the benefit of others. just trying to share, man. say what you will. i dont mean to innundate but these interviews are good, you nailed me.

Saw them at Mile High stadium in Denver '79... Check this line up, Ted Nugent Heart The Cars UFO Nils Lofgrin The Cars came onstage with pink guitars and faggy new-wave haircuts playing the most simplistic punky pop...It made me want to puke. I was to be horrified by their popularity in the years to come... ZW
It may have been simplistic but what more do you want from a pop band. I think one of the best pop songs ever was Barbie Girl!. I am mainly into rock music but also like some pop, and The Cars were an excellent pop group. Simple and catchy, cant ask for more!
