So basically preventative advice has not been given because of political correctness? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100325/ap_on_he_me/eu_med_avoiding_breast_cancer Wow... Sure she's dying, but at least her feelings weren't hurt because I called her fat. Christ, we're a bunch of babies...
i was talking about how many health issues could be avoided through weight loss and healthy habits and blah blah blah and this chick who doesn't know me says "oh SURE, pick on the fat people!" like i'm not fat.
I agree that a lot of health problems are avoided through healthy eating and exercise etc, but not all of them. How many times have they said that a glass of wine a night is bad for you, only for it to be followed a few months later with, no actually it's healthy and good. I remember someone saying that grapefruit could increase your chances of cancer.
lolz! Yeah, I don't have much faith in "food science," but keeping weight down and staying active has never caused cancer... I'm sure there are many factors at play, but I think preventative measures should be taken... or at least discussed! I don't think anyone should be tiptoeing around the subject. This is your LIFE! Do you want to live and have hurt feelings for a little while? Or die content that you did nothing to exacerbate the situation? Personally, I wouldn't want to bury my head in the sand on such a matter. Even if it doesn't help in all cases, I think at least the knowledge should be available.
Yeah of course, if they find anything that could possibly prevent something like cancer then they should make it public knowledge. But, even now doctors are never able to say why some people get cancer, so it can still happen to anyone even the fittest, healthiest of us.
That is a very well written article and it makes alot of sense in plain english. It is good to see someone forge ahead with the next step, big movements happen with small ones and I feel this is one of them.
