I just thought id share a rare jem of early 90's Lithuanian black metal. Anubi are a bizzare band. They have a very unusual style of music navigating between atmospheric and symphonic black metal, acoustic folk, jazz and 70's style rock and experimental electronic. They incorporate operatic vocals and mix it up with saxophone, accordion, violin and several self made instuments, one which they call a Triumphfunder. Their music is semi imporvisational and some of their songs are quite psychedelic. Actually I think they sound more like krautock bands a la Amon Duul II rather than black metal. Asmodean you might appreciate this. Unfortunately they only made one full length album before their front man died while he was exhibiting artwork in America. Here is their album (not my upload) http://rapidshare.com/files/260082725/Anubi_-_1997_-_Kai_Pilnaties_Akis_Uzmerks_Mirtis.7z Their demos are worth listening too but they are much more experimental.
Noted, sounds intruiging indeed. I'll check it out soon! East europe is really nice these days where it comes to innovating or just fresh old fashioned black metal!
