the only thing that really worries me about being caught with illegal substances are the difficulties applying for visas for travel abroad. In a few years I'm hoping to take a trip around the americas, mainly South, not too bothered about the US... I have no 'convictions' as of yet (although I did get a caution for class a intent to supply a few years back when I was caught with a fat bag of shrooms) so the police have my dna and fingerprints. Does anyone know more about this, though? Will i flat-out not be able to travel if I get a conviction? minor or serious (such as supply of Class A, not that I'd ever do such a thing)? Thanks for the help
I need to know this too. I only have a charge and conviction for misdemeanor possession of 7g of marijuana, and I don't know if that'll be a problem, but if anyone has any info, then it would be greatly appreciated.
flying out of the country is not a problem. or at least it never has been for me....crossing the border into canada though, they give me shit about.
I'm wanting to actually become a permanent resident, and eventually a citizen, of another country. I just hope none of charges interfere with that.
I very much doubt that the South American countries would get sand in their vaginas about visitors with criminal drug charges. Other countries like Japan and Sweden -especially Japan are more restrictive.
lol I'm gonna move there after I save up enough money to make it happen. I've just been trying to find out if my record will make it any more difficult than it has to be.
It seems like the New Zealand government will let just about anyone in nowdays - as long as you are not carrying organic matter. Other countries airports check for drugs, the NZ airports check to see if you are carrying seeds or a banana skin.
My dad was going into New Zealand a few years back from Australia, and he had to give his luggage over for a customs control of some sort. They came back and said everything was fine except for the fact that they'd found a spider rolled up in his tent, lol. That story doesn't help either of you, but I don't think either of the places you guys want to visit is too strict.
